Its been that way for at least 3 years, probably longer. You can't be suspended by an employer you don't work for. So he didn't serve any suspension. That's...really shortsighted. 14 hours ago, kramxel said: Insert the "But why" gif. The potential downside is much greater than the potential upside. Dumb move. It is a very dumb move. I can't see any scenario where it works out. But, as I don't wish Brown any harm (despite the fact he's a knucklehead)...I hope I'm wrong about that. 12 hours ago, TXsteeler said: The potential upside is literally the best WR in the league though. Ignore the downside? For a team with Super Bowl aspirations?
warfelg
More likely he gets in trouble for something away from the field too.

Aside from the cap implications (that likely won’t be an issue in Tampa), what downside did Brown introduce to NE or the Raiders? Even Pittsburgh, who had to deal with the guy in the locker room for years, seemed to be alright without him - safe to say they’d have been a playoff team last season if Ben was healthy. JJSS seemed to be a good kid before getting to Pittsburgh, seems to be a good kid now too. As long as he’s easy to dump, I think the upside and it’s likelihood, clearly outweighs the downside and it’s likelihood.

However.... there won't be any fans to boo anyways, so a good year to pull this stunt I suppose. The only year the SB is hosted by a team that is in the game, and NO fans 👏
ravishingone
All this AB and SB talk reminds me when the Giants played the Ravens in Tampa. Potentially, I guess history could repeat itself again. 🤔

Saying it and filing the paperwork to the league are two different things. It's sort of like declaring bankruptcy, you can't just SAY it... Here's an informative video that explains it fairly well.
