If he is, it wouldn't be surprising that a QB on a 1 year deal that the league wrote off isn't being honest about his physical condition. They are likely bottom five, if not bottom three, in the league in offensive talent. Look at Brady's production in 2019 vs 2020. They don't have a true #1 receiver and quite frankly probably don't have a good #2 WR either as Edelman is washed, Byrd is just a guy, and Harry hasn't fully developed yet (if ever). And despite Harris and Michel being efficient in the ground game, Newton leads the team in rushing yards. This is accurate. Not to mention that JAG Byrd is our LEADING WR in terms of snaps. Cam has never ever had an offense this bad. The OL is good....really good, but it doesn't really matter if he's passing to duds.

Annnnd combine that with covid and missing practices for weeks, here's what you get. Cam looked good the first two weeks.
Zalixar
I think Cam can bounce back. It sucks to see him struggle. NFL is better with him winning.
Hunter2_1
It might help him out drawing up just one play to target one of our two new TEs. Just one target....that's all I ask. Let's see what we've got. It's bizarre.

Maybe he’s not back to 100%? It’s been two bad games. Are we going to forget he threw for 400 yards and almost beat a 5 touchdown Russell Wilson? the suggestion that the Pats are better with Hoyer or Stid is laughable. I’d rather watch Cam throw 3 picks a game for 16 games... at least with him you have some outside chance he will do something He was not “elite” for 3 games
CP3MVP
The pats have had one impressive game passing the ball, and it was the Seahawks. The Seahawks defense had gotten roasted by everyone

Not once did you describe it as above average to great. This isnt the same Cam pre injury or 2015 MVP, that's the point He was playing at a MVP level before he got hurt against the Steelers. Eagles23
The biggest problem with Cam imo is his throwing mechanics and they didnt get fixed in New England. And its not just his lack of weapons, watch some of the film breakdown Kurt Warner does. He's not seeing the field well
LETSGOBROWNIES
Cam is breaking down and the Pats offense doesn’t have a lot for him to work with. It’s not one or the other, it’s both imo.

If Edelman is your best skill player, youre kinda screwed. The Patriots were afforded the luxury of never caring about skill position players for 15 years because Tom Brady could make any 5'7" white dude look like a pro bowler. It was extremely surprising that BB never decided to aggressively attack WR/TE this past offseason knowing this.

jofos
The bottom line is that everyone can say the Patriots don't have talent but people don't want to say that Cam is no longer any good? Okay fine the Patriot receivers aren't good but how odes that explain missing them by five yards? The pass that Harry was knocked out on was thrown so late that harry had run into coverage before the ball was thrown, so not only is Cam missing by miles, but he also has a slower release than Tim Tebow. Hoyer is a better option at this point. Signing Cam was the worst decision the Patriots have made in a while, yes its was worse than picking Harry in the first round.
