A few things really stood out that I think should be instructive for the team going forward.

1. As much as getting talent on the offensive side of the ball is a priority, getting bigger up front should supersede it. This team is pathetically small and weak in the front-7, and that's something you can only get away with if you're regularly playing from ahead, which they're not. 

2. Ja'Whaun Bentley is probably the worst defensive player in the league right now. The dude simply cannot tackle and he shouldn't be out there except on obvious passing downs - and even then he should be used sparingly. 

3. Jakobi Meyers should be a big part of the passing offense going forward. I frankly don't know why he wasn't on the field more often in the first 6 games. He's shown quite a bit more than Harry as a pro. I know Harry is the bigger investment, and you want to get the most out of him, but working Meyers into the game plan would've been a big help at least against Denver.

4. Josh Uche should play as much as possible for the remainder of the season. He looked very good with his pursuit and play recognition in his opportunities today. 

5. JC Jackson makes Gilmore expendable. I was a bit apprehensive about how he'd hold up with Diggs as his main assignment but he acquitted himself well. 

6. Ryan Izzo is not the answer to anything at TE. He was supposed to be a blocking specialist, but the 9-yard sack he gave up in the 2nd quarter, where he didn't have the presence of mind to hold when beaten makes it clear he's not even especially good at that.

7. I maintain my position that Cam should be evaluated over a full season. Ending the game on a fumble is brutal, but I definitely have more confidence in him as a passer after this game than I did a week ago. If he shows that he can at least be a good stopgap while the next guy is developed, he should be brought back in that capacity. 

8. Damien Harris is for real. I haven't been this impressed with a Pats RB since Stevan Ridley. Let's hope he doesn't develop a fumbling problem or get hurt. 

Great post however I disagree with two things.

QB should be the number 1 focus in 2021 draft .  I don't care about over paying, losing future picks. You have to nail down a QB. If we end up with the 10th pick this will be a rarity. You can't waste this opportunity. The value for 10th is 1300 points,  Lets say, they have in 2022 the 20th pick it's only worth  850 points. Use10th in trade don't wait or more assets will be needed to make it happen down the road. Last thing I want is to like the Vikings, Browns years after years chasing a QB.

Lastly The Giants could be a great trade partner if they lets say have the 2/3 pick.

Ja'Whaun Bentley,   Not fair to single him out. He's not suppose to be a starter. He is in there because we have no one else. He a situational player.

Two things.

1. I don't know how you can watch that game and think QB is the team's biggest problem. Yes, it would be better to be set up with a QBotF for the long-term, when Cam is going to be 32 next season and likely not that guy. But the biggest issues with the team right now are clearly the front-7 and the lack of receivers.

2. The QB class in 2021 is going to be remarkably deep. There will likely be 5 or 6 guys with 1st round grades, and it's highly likely that one of them will fall to the end of the 1st or into the 2nd round. There's no need to panic and sell the farm for the #1 or #2 guy on the draft board.

I disagree to a degree. I think one of the main reasons Cam was brought in this year is because most of the top QB prospects are RPO guys. Fields, Mond, Trask, Newman, and Lance. I think BB wanted to start installing this type of offense now with Cam and work out the kinks with the expectation that one of the guys I mentioned would be available to nab.

That's way too conjectural for my liking. I don't think Bill is looking for a specific type of QB, but the guy who can best run the offense with the pieces available on the roster. The team was too cash-strapped to add much receiving talent, so they added a guy who could run RPO concepts that would take pressure off the receiving corps.

The trend of RPO QB's entering the league continues to increase, this year with a considerable jump. You can't discount the idea that BB is looking at the RPO offense this year for a reason beyond Cam was available.

I'm not discounting it. I'm just saying there's no evidence one way or the other. The top two rookie QBs this year are both mainly pocket guys, so I'm not prepared to say that RPO is incontrovertibly the wave of the future.

Literally agree with every point. 

I'm not sold on Meyers and I think it's an indictment of our roster when we say that Meyers should be a big part of this offense, but it is true. He actually resembles a WR...so that's good.
