Whicker
Portland Offensive Gameplan: The Passing Game: With Derek Carr out due to a back injury Tyrod will get the start. With a new QB under center who brings an entirely new element to our offense we'll try to maximize that by using some read option to confuse the defense. We'll use bootlegs and move the pocket to maximize Tyrod's running ability as well, Sammy Watkins will more than likely match-up with Jalen Ramsey who is a pretty damn good CB. We'll avoid throwing at Ramsey and try to get the ball to our other weapons like Charles Clay,LeSean, Davante Adams etc. Davante Adams will match-up with James Bradberry if he suits up, if he doesn't suit up Kearse will more than likely be our no.2 WR. Orlando's defense is very good all around but it has some weaknesses, Joey Bosa isn't playing up to his rookie form and Carl Lawson is a poor starter across from him and Golden going on IR more or less leaves Orlando with a weak pass rush. They also have some weaknesses on the backend in McLeod who has struggled this year and Trevathan who is suspended for this game since he wasn't suspended last week. We'll use LeSean McCoy and Charles clay as our main pass catching weapons and if Adams suits up he'll be our main passing weapon if not McCoy+Clay will fill that role. Tyrod is playing very well right and is a big reason why the bills are in control of the AFC east IRL we'll commit to running the football to maintain balance on offense and open up the passing game for Tyrod. With a lacking pass rush on the outside, Orlando's interior d-line is pretty damn good with Suh+Poe who are both All-Pro Caliber defenders. We'll focus on running the ball outside the tackles to take advantage of their weak run defenders. Orlando is just banged up right now on defense with several of their best players out/injured/suspended and I believe my offense can take full advantage of that. I expect they'll play lots of Man Coverage and try and focus on the running game and underestimate my passing offense, we'll make them pay for that by taking a few Deep shots off play action since that's where Tyrod excels at. The Running Game: We'll use Jordan Howard and LeSean as our main RBs with Abdullah mixing in to keep them fresh, We'll run the ball on at least 45% of the plays because I don't think Orlando is capable of stopping my running game, we'll run the ball outside the tackles and use some read option to mix it up a bit. Howard will be the goadline RB and get 60% of the carries while McCoy will be the 3rd down/pass catching RB. We'll switch their roles up as well as to make sure not to make it too obvious what we're doing when one or both of them is on the field. Juzcyck will be our FB and we'll use him as a swiss army knife weapon as a runner/blocker/pass catcher. Tyrod will also get a few Scrambles/read option runs and while I doubt he crosses 100 yards rushing it's not out of the realm of possibility since I don't think Orlando will expect we'll go read option heavy. My O-line should be able to open some decent holes for my RBs and keep my QB protected from their weak outside pass rush. We'll leave a RB/TE/FB in to pass protect as needed and we'll make sure they chip at the line before going out for the ball. The Blocking: Villanueva will be our LT, Luke Joekel who is playing well for the Seahawks moves to LG, Ben Jones will be our C, J.C Tretter will be our RG, Anthony Castanzo kicks out to RT because Veldheer sucks and Castanzo is a solid upgrade over him. We'll also make sure whoever is lined up against Bosa will get some help on some plays since he's obviously their best pass rusher and since we'll be moving the pocket on a few plays that will make it easier to protect Tyrod who should be able to dodge most pass rushers and make plays with his legs. TDLR; Commit to the run, Take advantage of an injured defense, Make plays. Portland Defensive Gameplan: Pass Defense: Jimmy Smith will cover Alshon Jeffrey if he suits up if not we'll shift around our pass defense around a bit, Jason McCourty PFF's #6 CB through 4 weeks will cover Bryant, Ken Crawley PFF's #1 CB through 4 weeks will cover the slot or their 3rd WR depending on the matchup. With Rob Gronkowski out for this game that's a massive disadvantage for Russell Wilson and their passing offense and allows me to put more attention on their WRs, we'll mostly be playing in zone coverage specifically Cover 2 and mixing in some cover 3. While my CBs outside of Jimmy Smith aren't the greatest my safeties are excellent with Glover Quinn being a big reason for why the Lions defense is playing so well, Malcolm Jenkins has proven he's an All-Pro Caliber player for multiple seasons now and I don't see us giving up many deep balls with those two rounding out the back of my defense. Considering my defense has gone against a mobile QB in practice all season long, we'll be ready for any of Wilson's running and we'll have a QB spy on some plays to keep him contained. My LBs led by Dont'a Hightower and Telvin Smith who are both playing on an excellent level right now, should be able to contain Wilson and shut down the running game. I expect Orlando will try to feature Kamara/Hyde more in the passing game to subsidize Gronk missing this game and we'll be ready for that, Wilson is a very good QB and I expect he'll put up a very good challenge for my defense and we'll be ready for it. We'll rotate our LBs and DBs as needed to keep them fresh, Dont'a Hightower will be the QB of our defense and Telvin Smith will be the QB spy for Wilson on some of the plays. Outside of Gronk Orlando doesn't really have a good TE since Zach Miller is nothing more than an aging checkdown target. We'll also use some 3 safety looks to get Daniel Sorenson some snaps since he's playing so well this year. Run Defense: Quinn+Short+Jernigan+Ogbah is an elite D-line that should be able to put lots of pressure on Wilson and contain the run, Quinn is enjoying a nice rebound season while Short is a top 5 NFL D-lineman. Jernigan will play on passing downs while Pierce will rotate in on obvious running downs, Ogbah is having a very good season season and he'll be our pass rusher across from Quinn, T.J watt will rotate quite a bit with him to keep him fresh and give him some opportunities to rush the passer. Bruce Irvin will be moved around as a pass rushing chess piece and we'll use him to Blitz Wilson, he'll also come in on running downs etc. We'll rotate our D-line and LBs heavily to keep them fresh, I expect my Front seven will be able to limit Orlando's running game quite a bit. Orlando's RBs led by Carlos Hyde who is injury prone but having a nice rebound year, Alvin Kamara a solid pass catching threat and one of DeAndre Washington/Jerick McKinnon who are both scrubs role players in their RL offenses. We should be able to to control the LOS and force them into throwing it to beat us, we'll put an extra focus on the running game etc. We'll play goaline defense as it is needed and we'll switch players depending on the down&distance etc. The Pass Rush: We should be able to put quite a bit of pressure on Russell Wilson and he tends to struggle under pressure, while his BDL line is literally miles above his IRL line he still tends to struggle under pressure. Then again he's probably gotten so used to pressure at this point he just knows how to deal with it at this point, either way we'll focus on keeping him contained and forcing them to throw it to beat us. We'll also try and create turnovers by forcing fumbles on their RBs and strip sacks since Turnovers will be key in this game. TDLR; Stop the run, Contain Wilson, Force Turnovers. Offense: Power run game, west coast offense. Let’s start with the bad news, Gronk being unable to get on the field definitely hurts but in this case we don’t think that his loss will affect our ability to move the football as our offensive line and weapons have a solid advantage over Portland’s defense. Our offensive strategy this week is simple, Orlando plans to start early and often with the running game. Hyde and Kamara will touches both in the run game and in the passing game to attack the middle of the field and wear down Portland’s front. On the outside we have the speed of Martavis and Benjamin to blow the top off the defense keeping the safeties honest and the size of Alshon paired with Zach Miller at TE to work the underneath routes that should give the Portland secondary fits. I also want to highlight our playmaking QB, Russell Wilson, who has been pointed out as a weakness in our last couple weeks because of Seattle’s issues this season. Wilson IRL had performed behind one of the worst O-Lines in the NFL and over the last two weeks has put up 668 yards in the air with 6 TDs to 2 INTs as well as 64 yards and another TD on the ground, here in the Orlando Wilson gets the luxury of performing his magic behind one of the best O-lines in the BDL. The strength of our OL is what will allow Hyde and Kamara to churn out chunk yardage and Wilson to hit our talented WRs with dimes. Defense: 4-3 Man coverage, Attack interior, On defense our only change this week is to sub out the suspended Trevathan with Christian Kirksey who may actually be an upgrade. Last season Kirksey ranked as the 4th best LB against the run and the 5th most productive ILB in the pass rush. Kirksey will step right in next to All Pro Bobby Wagner. The linebackers main focus this week will be to keep Tyrod Taylor in the pocket and focus on shutting down McCoy and Howard in both the running and the passing game. At DL we return the same meat wall of Bosa, Suh, Poe, and Lawson. This front 4 should have a field day against Portland’s weak line The left side of Costanzo and Villanueva is sub par in the BDL and his RT Veldheer has taken strides but is ranked in the bottom 10 tackles in the NFL. With our front 7 shutting down the run game and making Tyrod run for his life our secondary of Ramsey, Mathieu, and Bradberry will play press coverage to shut down any shorter routes from the wide receivers. They should have no problem keeping Watkins, Adams, and Kearse in check. At Safety we will drop Neal down into the box to support the LBs in keeping the RB shut down and help the CBs clog the middle for any quick passes. Rodney McLeod will provide a single high safety to keep Watkins from getting anything going deep. Overall I think this should be a solid win for Orlando, with Tyrod playing behind a weak offensive line our defense should feast and come up with many sacks, stops, and turnovers. On offense our OL and Russell Wilson should be able to feed the running game and tear up the secondary.

DingoLadd
Ended up going with Orlando, I trust their secondary to shut down Portland's passing attack more than I do Tyrod to make some plays. Plus Orlando can take away Portland's RBs and that more or less is Portland's entire offense outside of some plays from Adams and Clay.
WFLukic
Even with a dinged group of weapons, Orlando's offense is able to make more happen and the struggling OL for Portland combined with Carr's absence is too much to overcome. 20-13 Orlando in a grind at home. Tyrod's actually played better than Carr most of this season and his mobility should be able to make up for the fact my line is medicore. Plus Orlando's best WR in Jeffrey should get erased by Jimmy Smith and Bryant has struggled this year, Benjamin is a medicore deep threat. Zach Ertz is their biggest passing game weapon and he won't get open against my LBs and Safeties.
Ragnarok
I think both QBs use their mobility to keep drives alive although. Both teams should have success running the ball, but I actually think that Portland will be able to make a couple more explosive plays as I don't trust Bryant or Benjamin as much. pheltzbahr
I think Wilson can do more with his group than Tyrod. Very close tough.

MD4L
I like Portlands chances here. Gronk out isn't the hugest deal as Hightower/Smith would make him earn every yard. Ultimately Russell Wilson is the superior QB with a slight advantage offensively. Defensively, I think Orlando matches up because guys like Carl Lawson, Ramsey, Bradberry. Also the bench guys for Orlando (McKinnin/Kamara) look like promising players. Orlando 31- Portland
Whicker
I think I like Orlando. Both offenses will struggle, but with Orlando focusing on shutting down the Portland run game and Ramsey taking away Watkins, Orlando will have a little more success. TedLavie
Surprisingly, I like Portland quite a bit here. I like their chances to run the ball and Tyron mobility can offset a little the strong Orlando pass rush. I like Adams vs Mathieu/Bradberry (it's not clear who's covering him). On the other hand, I just don't trust Orlando weapons outside of Jeffrey, who could have a good game. 31-20 Portland
