Chops013
Didn’t see this thread anywhere (sorry if I missed it). I suck at coming up with good comparisons but always enjoyed reading the player comps you guys come up with. Who ya got?
diamondbull424
So I’ve been watching Justyn Ross in hopes that maybe he declares and could last to the Ravens selection in the 1st round... he’s reminding me of AJ Green. Outside of the medical concern, he looks like a top 15 WR type of talent.
Hunter2_1
Dylan Moses, LB, 235/6'3" Obviously notable; - Motor and Energy - Aggression - Smashes into blockers - Rangy and quick Comp: Myles Jack or Lavonte David. 3-4 ILB (or OLB) who flies around and is a missile. diamondbull424
Some other comparisons I see with specific players that I like enough: DeVonta Smith = Chad Johnson/Ochocinco Pat Friermuth = Mark Andrews and/or young Jason Witten Micah Parsons = Darius Leonard Jackson Carmon = Kelechi Osemele Darius Stills = Geno Atkins Brevin Jordan = Delanie Walker Rondale Moore = Percy Harvin Other notable names I like that I’m working on an optimal comparison, but not fully in love with the one I have: Creed Humphrey = Travis Frederick (?) Kyle Pitts = Darren Waller (?) Jalen Mayfield = Marshal Yanda (?) Hamilcar Rashed = ? Reminds me of someone but no idea who yet

jrry32
For now: Kyle Trask = Nick Foles (Matt Ryan or Matt Schaub if he ends up in a really good spot) (Foles shouldn't be seen as an insult. I think Trask can thrive in the right environment. He's just not a guy who will overcome his circumstances. He needs protection, and he needs dynamic playmakers.) Kyle Pitts = Jimmy Graham (prime version) (Originally, I thought Tony G., but Pitts is a better athlete, whereas Tony was more skilled. Like Jimmy Graham, Pitts is long, freakishly athletic, and seemingly catches everything you throw him, but he's not a good blocker. He's basically an oversized receiver.) SaveOurSonics
I don't even think there's a good comparison for Kyle Pitts. He's extremely unique with the variety of ways he wins. He's a better route runner than most guys 40lbs lighter than him. Najee Harris reminds me of Steven Jackson. Elite size, contact balance, and underrated agility, both guys win with relentlessness, can flash as outlet receivers, and show off surprising giddy up in the open field. This is a popular comp, but Travis Etienne is honestly just a bigger Alvin Kamara. Chuba Hubbard reminds me of Ryan Mathews. Tough runners at the collegiate level that win with strength despite less than ideal acceleration or girth. I'm skeptical of Chuba holding up at the pro level with his body type and running style. Just a personal opinion, but I wouldn't consider him until the 3rd round. Can't really think of a good comp for Kenny Gainwell. A faster Tarik Cohen? A weaker Austin Ekeler? Point is, he's a capable change of pace back who can be an elite mismatch option in the receiving game. SaveOurSonics
I'll throw out a few more while I'm reviewing my RB rankings. Jaret Patterson = Myles Gaskin Very similar size profiles. Both players lack a standout trait whether it be power, speed, or receiving ability. Both prospects maximize their ability with elite vision and patience to setup blockers and get defenders out of position. Neither of these prospects should be considered until Day 3 of the draft (at the earliest) and both max out as complimentary committee / backup options. Michael Carter = Jerick McKinnon I doubt Carter tests quite as well as McKinnon did, but both players have similar size profiles and both players possess great short area burst and polished receiving ability (though I'd like to see more from Carter here tbh). Both guys can show flashes of brilliance at the NFL level but max out upper-echelon committee pieces. I really can't think of a good comp for Kylin Hill so I'll have to go back to the drawing board for that one. Aaron Jones comes to mind but frankly I don't think quite that highly of Hill as a prospect so I'm trying to think of one that fits my projection a bit more. The Ohio native played 16 seasons in the NFL for five different franchises. His speed made him a dangerous deep-threat during his tenure in the league. He finished with 77 touchdown catches and 15.6 yards per reception over the course of his career. Apparently, he can still fly. Former Ohio State quarterback and ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit tweeted out in July of 2014 that Galloway posted a 4.29 on grass at the age of 42. QBIso
Galloway is a good comp. I dig it. I think his speed is actually better than Ruggs despite the reports that Ruggs was definitely the fastest. Waddle has more wiggle and seems to be more of a “cya” guy in space. Ruggs had better hands and ball tracking tho.

Waddle seems to be able to keep his top speed more with double moves, shakes, and more pronounced cuts. Both are blazing though

I've changed my mind on Trask. I think Matt Schaub is the best comparison. He has protected the football a lot better this year. Like Schaub, he's a massive guy with traits that are otherwise underwhelming (mediocre at best arm strength and no real mobility), but he's very smart, skilled, and precise.
