2021 Draft Comparisons

Recommended Posts

My QB comparisons

Trevor Lawrence- Carson Wentz

Zach Wilson - Baker Mayfield / more mobile Jay Cutler

Justin Fields - Deshaun Watson

Trey Lance - Lamar Jackson with maybe a dash of Manziel in there (with better physical tools than both)

Mac Jones - Matt Schaub

Kellen Mond - Blaine Gabbert

Couple more:

Kadarius Toney -> Stefon Diggs

Rashod Bateman -> Justin Jefferson

Diggs was very polished coming out of college. Toney is hella raw still and was asked to run the simplest route tree in the world. Athletically they’re similar. In terms of polish and the ability to track the ball, Toney is lightyears behind Diggs.

This seems a bit revisionist.  If Diggs was that polished and that athletic, he'd have gone way before the 5th round.

That said, Tony does need to clean up his routes as he freelances a bit too much.

My comps aren't prospect -> prospect, they're prospect -> pro. You don't know what a player can't do until he shows you he can't do it. See Justin Jefferson.

How’s Percy Harvin work for Toney?

I see Toney as a true wide-receiver and less of a gadget type. Also, Harvin ended up getting really rocked up in the NFL, and I don't see Toney going that route.
