I know everyone gets injuries, this season in particular, but it's a credit to this coaching staff that we are competing nearly every week. Fangio is likely going to get the rep of a HC who can build a team up, and get the most out of his D. And it's well-earned from his DC days. His game management is really holding him back, though. The worrisome part is that it's year 2. This when you hope to see that part improve. If it doesn't, that's how you fall into the John Fox - Ron Rivera label of "team-builder but not able to get teams into the final step" range. Don't get me wrong, Fangio's skill set is what we need now, and we can worry about the future starting next year. Realistically it's tough to see this change much this year. What Fangio could really use for next season if he wants to improve - DEN takes the next step in metrics analysis, and hires a game management coach/advisor on the sideline. Not a guy who necessarily takes over that area - but keeps Fangio & OC/DC aware of the situation. For example, the move made by TEN HC Vrabel vs HOU in intentionally taking a too-many-men penalty with no TO's left and 3+ mins on clock, and facing HOU 2nd and 1 on D and already in easy FG range in a tie game - that move saved them 40+ secs by taking the penalty, and then making the D stand. They scored a tying TD with 3 secs left. The odds of HOU scoring a FG or TD were astronomical, it was a brilliant move (that the commentators actually missed too). It's actually the second time Vrabel's done that in 3 years. That's 4D level game management. We can't even get Fangio to use his TO's so our O can get the ball back inside the 2 min warning lol. Now, it may not show up vs. ATL, since they (along with LAC) are so bad at game management themselves, but in winnable games, these areas matter even more. Something to watch for today. lomaxgrUK
Callahan out as well, so over half of our starting defensive is out. That Bausby cut was so, so, so bad.
paul-mac
Not gonna lie, I feel damn good about starting Julio Jones on my fantasy team today.

jsthomp2007
The Falcons aren't as bad as their record states, and Matt Ryan is a really good QB.
Broncofan
You either go for it now or you get a McManus FG at the ATL 41 on 4th and 6. You do NOT punt. So when Fangio takes a TO, you think maybe he's coming to understand concepts like this. Instead Fangio takes a TO...to punt again. His game management is just so awful...
AKRNA
Can anyone tell me why we just called a time out.
lomaxgrUK
That Punt was a net 25 yards and cost us a timeout. AWFUL from Vic. No excuse for that.

lomaxgrUK
Hope Drew was watching Ryan climb in the pocket then. Perfect. Sure am glad we cut Bausby to keep Harris and his 5/10 Special Teams play, and we now get to him roasted on Defense.

Defense is dinged up so it’s hard to blame them too much. Offense needs to put points on the board
