You need to realize this is nothing new.  Think on this.

The Bears just finished the season at .500.

It had been 20 years since they won a championship.

They only had 3 winning seasons in that entire time and had not won a single playoff game.

They had 5 different head coaches and they had 10 different starting quarterbacks over that time.

The year 1983.  Two years later they won the super bowl. Just say'n

This isn’t t the 80’s NFL, who cares about what was done in the past. It’s part of the reason why the Bears haven’t progressed into the new age of football.

The point was this has been going on since the game started passing Papa Bear by in the '60s. They squeaked one last championship in 63 then it was crap for 20 years till Ditka came and they were  good for a few years but was mostly because of the defense.  They could never get the offense right.  Then they were bad to mediocre for several year till Lovie came and the had some good years but again could never get the offense right. Then they completely went into the crapper, and they still can`t get the offense right.  Even in '85 the offense was only ok outside of Paton. Other then a few excusions into the mediocre the Bears have not had a consistently good offense since the early '60s.

Yeah I took it as you were saying you never know they can be good and win a super bowl. After reading it again I’m still taking it that way.

Tbh it was a little of both. The recurring theme is they haven't ever gotten the offense right in over 50 years but then every so often the football gods align and we win something but then slide into irrelevence.
