Washington signs former UMD RB Javon Leake to Practice Squad

Recommended Posts

I love this! He has potential! Truthfully, I’d like to see him replace Barber. Barber does everything ok, but nothing above average. I get why he’s here - for special teams mostly but still should’ve kept Peterson over him; that was a dumb cut. Leake has a lot potential and Barber is a jag.

A lot of good players go undrafted. One reason why is bc he wasn’t the starter, McFarland was who Pittsburgh drafted in the 4th round.

Leake should’ve stayed for his senior year at UMD but I don’t think he would’ve started this year either because Funk is back off his knee Injury and he’s been awesome! Funk is like a Rex Burkhead. He does everyone at a good level but noting elite, still very dependable.

I don’t know if this is the reason he went undrafted but at the Combine his forty times were 4.65/4.75

He played faster at Maryland. I was shocked his 40 was that low.
