Vikings waive OG Pat Elflein; claimed by Jets

Recommended Posts

He's been pretty bad past his rookie season. We tried him at LG, C and RG but he never developed.

As a backup he's good though. Great in the screen game.

I'd be shocked if the 9ers didn't put in a claim for him. We started Brunskill at Center last game and he had never played there in his life. This meant that we had to put in Tom Compton as starting RG. Would improve 2 spots overnight.

I was thinking this as well. He's already familiar with the blocking concepts given Minnesota runs similar.

I don't know if it improves anything, but it 100% makes sense to kick the tires to see if we wanted to sign him after the season

Tom Compton (Shivers) We had him in Minny for a bit for depth. Was awful when we had to play him. I always joked he only had a job cause him and Kirk are friends.

I thought he'd be better then he's been, coming out of college.

Was really solid as a rookie. Shoulder and Ankle injuries he suffered in the NFCCG vs Philly derailed his career.

I'd take him in Cleveland, its not like he doesn't know the system, plus he could benefit from one of the best in the business (Bill Callahan)

Same. I thought he'd at least be average. Oh well.
