CAMDEN

Offense
Friendship Bowl! We take on a very good squad and a very good professional friend of the Hood Rats. They have weapons all over the defense but with a juggernaut offense like this one, we plan to just put the pedal to the metal and go.

Baker time- He's a top 3 QB in the AFL right now, and with Brown and Kupp out there we're gonna put him in the shotgun and let him fire away. As long as the weather cooperates he should be fine.

Seam Blaster- That's Gronk's street name, and that's how we'll use him today. In cover 1 or 2 for NO, we can use Gronk to draw coverage to the middle of the field to let our WR's get some YAC.

Damien Dozer- He can't be stopped, won't be stopped. I see the fear in NO's defenses eyes already. If he had something other than a RB at QB IRL, he'd be unstoppable, like here today.

Defense (Cover 1 slant stopper)
New Orleans has a crazy amount of weapons on offense, and we had a hand in that, so we know how to stop it.

Slant stopper- Running a cover 1 because Thomas and Hopkins aren't beating us deep, so Justin Reid will favor whatever side DJ Moore is on. Jamal Adams role today as the robber is to line up on whatever side Michael Thomas is on and be the slant stopper. He'll drift into a zone on that side that will allow Sneed to play without having to worry about that slant, so we except every slant to be busted up or picked by Adams. Easy.

Big game, let Josh Allen be himself- We saw last year in big games Josh Allen regularly doo-doo'd himself. Remember that game where he had a back breaking first down with a run, and then all of the sudden turned around and tried to lateral it for no reason? He knows today is big to keep Rome out of the playoffs, so we want to remind him of that while we're in the backfield all day.

That's it. Simple.

NEW ORLEANS

Offense:

1RB-4WR Base (60% Pass – 40% Run):

While we’ve listed a 4WR base, we’ll generally run a number of different personnel packages including 3WR-1TE, 2WR-2TE and 2WR-1TE-2RB sets.

In 1TE sets we’ll largely go with Higbee, while the 2TE sets will feature Gesicki and Higbee, or even a 6th OL as a TE depending on down and distance. The 2 RB sets will often feature DJ Moore lining up in the backfield, but will generally be a mix of the specialist RBs and in particular Hines given his passing game prowess and ability in open space.

Passing Game:

In terms of the passing game, we’re going to keep it pretty simple and just utilise our receivers and other pass-catchers in line with their strengths. Allen’s job will be to identify which receiver is in single coverage and toss it to them. Of our top two WRs, Hopkins will be our do it all receiver, running a full route tree while Thomas will largely work underneath on slants, hitch, crossing and out routes. Parker we expect to draw single coverage quite often and because of that we’re going to be happy to send him deep more often than not and have Allen toss it up to him in 1 on 1 situations. Moore will ordinarily line up in the slot but also motion quite often, being lined up on the outside or in the backfield with the goal of getting the ball in his hands and letting him do his work after the catch. In addition to this, we’ll have Moore go deep using his 4.4 speed to mix things up and try and take advantage of a Camden defense which may creep up to prevent the short passing & running game.

RPO, Play Action & Allen running/throwing outside the pocket:

We suspect Camden will come out with a standard base 4-3, largely man look. Therefore we incorporate play action and option plays to get Allen outside of the pocket and either throwing on the run or scrambling himself to pick up yards. We’ll do this in all our formations as we’re confident that all our receiving options will be able to find space given Allen will have extra time to avoid the rush and defenders won’t be able to stick with our players. If Camden opt to double Hopkins and Thomas, then Allen will simply run more often or look for the running back/TE to dump it off if there’s a spy as there’ll be a numbers mismatch somewhere.

Running Game:

The running game will feature our usual heavy rotation, with Hines being preferred for 3rd down, Gordon at the goal-line and Moss and Singletary chipping in occasionally. As alluded to above, Allen will get a few carries as well both out of option situations or scrambling on broken down passing plays.

We’ll continue to sprinkle in the occasional Roman inspired look from our 2 TE sets, or 2TE-2RB sets with Moore motioning into the backfield with Allen being given the option to keep, toss, or throw it to one of the TEs who peels off.

Defense:

Our defensive line will rotate on occasion, with the starters expected to play the majority of the snaps though Vernon will play earlier downs in place of Houston or Allen frequently, while Dre’Mont Jones will substitute in for Covington on every likely passing down.

Winovich will see snaps as a pass-rushing specialist, in particular when we plan to send 5 rushers or are blitzing while Agim will see around 20-25% of the snaps largely spelling Simmons and Covington as necessary alongside Jones.

Modified Cover 2 Man:

We’re going to go with a modified Cover 2-Man defense, with the following coverage assignments:

Gilmore – AJ Brown
Bradberry – Cooper Kupp
JC Jackson – TY Hilton
Oluokun – Gronkowski
Hyde – Running Back (if running route).

With Byard as the deep safety and Hyde playing closer to the LOS in run support, with occasional blitz looks but usually dropping back to cover the intermediate or following the RB. Bouye will come in for 4 WR sets, and Danny T for a CB in heavier sets.

I can see Camden having some success for a good portion of the game because their defense. I think Leonard + Adams are going to stop the running game, and I think the their ability can handle Josh Allen as a runner. The big difference here is containing Louisiana receivers which is almost redundant because there is high level talent and high end depth.

While I think Camden can do somethings well with a strong running game, I think once New Orleans gets points on the board it might be hard for Baker to keep up. I like Kupp to have some success but it’s hard to expect Baker to keep up if he has to score 30 or so points.

In a close game than the final shows, I’ll go New Orleans. 28-16

I respect you entertaining my gameplan while at while the same time respecting the sanctity of voting against late game plans.

Can't help it if Captain Kangol doesn't like utilizing TE's in his system.

Arians has never really valued TEs which is why I don't understand why they haven't traded some of their many TEs away for players he might actually utilize.

As for this game, late game plan.
