It did seem like the first year coach was given some push to retain the veteran DC but he had to have ultimately been on board and the move made sense at the time. With ST in fact, there hasn’t been any official hire yet so while it looks like a strong possibility, Drayton is not yet a coach of anything. I think the most that’s happened is that Pettine was recommended by Murphy/Gute because his first year was promising and Mennenga was recommended by Pettine as they worked together in Cleveland.
