If Sheila wants to get everyone in Detroit & the NFL’s attention, she should go with a blank check & pay a visit to Bill Cowher. Offer him the GM & Head Coaching job, while asking him what it would take to get his services. Then put that amount on the check and seal the deal. Bringing him to Detroit will be more valuable than any players contract on the team.

Sign me up. That would be fantastic.

He's so far gone from being in the league, I wonder if it would actually work. He's still doing the tv gig and is around guys, doing research, etc. I have absolutely no idea whether this is 100% accurate but I've never heard of Cowher doing anything similar in terms of film study that Gruden was doing while he was doing MNF. The reports were that Gruden was up at like 3 am and doing hours upon hours of film study. That's a stark contrast to the typical production meetings done on a week by week basis for tv. I'm assuming that is what Cowher is doing these days.

Some of the names that I'm hearing for GM are:

- Louis Riddick

- Chris Spielman

I know that Tony Dungy will likely get floated around but I'm going to assume that he won't be interested after the Lions firing Caldwell.

I don't follow who is doing what to be prepping for a GM spot, but why Chris Spielman? Isn't he another broadcaster? If that's all he has been doing than this is a hard pass for me. I'm not interested in another Matt Millen.

A couple of the local guys are plugging him for the job. I get that they work together and he probably has expressed a desire to get into that type of role. In fairness, John Lynch and Mike Mayock were also in those types of jobs and have been doing well enough in their roles as GM's.

Still a hard pass for me. If he had some more time working in the front office, I would reconsider.
