stl4life07
First off I like to say Happy Thanksgiving to each and everyone and Im thankful to be able to talk sports with you all. Its fun and I appreciate it. Stay safe and well and enjoy today. Ok so these are the things Im thankful for about the Rams this season: 1) Sean McVay - Coaching matters. Its so great to have a coach that is one of the best who even in a down season still went (9-7) with being a made kick away from (10-6) and making the playoffs. His decision to bring in defensive coordinator Brandon Staley was the best coaching acquisition in all of football this offseason. McVay has been willing to adjust his own offense and it has shown as the Rams are back to being a top 5 offense this season. So Im confident that having a great coach the Rams will rarely get outcoached in games and they will almost always have a chance to win games and get into the playoffs with a chance to go to the Superbowl. 2) Defense - In the words of John Johnson III "best defense in the league". Defensive coordinator Staley has done a great job. Someone on here said its Donald and Ramsey and everyone else. No its not. The Rams have real players on defense. The fact that Donald didnt even get on the stat chart the past two games against Wilson and Brady and the Rams defense still dominated is proof the Rams have real players on defense outside of Donald and Ramsey. This is a Superbowl defense and once this season is over we can lump the 2020 Rams defense with some of the great defenses in NFL history for a season. Thats how great they are this season. Not to mention I think they are historically the best 2nd half defense in the NFL. 3) Jarad Goff - For all his flaws and people will point them out quick, there is something to be said for 40 wins since 2017 second to only Brady in that span, 32-0 when leading at halftime which means Goff wont blow games for you. Did you know that every team in the NFL has had at least 2 losses when leading at halftime in that span? Goff only has 1 turnover in the 4th quarter too and that was this past game against the Bucs. He made up for it with leading his team down the field for the go ahead FG which eventually won the game. Goff isnt always flashy but there arent many QBs Id take over Goff. He is always available, he does what he has to do to help the team win and the Rams have been one of the most successful teams both in wins and on offense in the NFL since that losing coach Fisher left with his "im going to get a tight end coach who has zero experience as a playcaller to be the offensive coordinator" smh lol. 4) The rookie class - I know people love to grade how teams did in the draft. I think most had the Rams about average this season if not below average. The Rams again struck gold. Akers has flashed when his opportunity came up. Jefferson has flashed when his opportunity came up. Burgess has flashed when his opportunity came up. Lewis is playing well now that his opportunity is here and I cant say enough about Fuller and what he has done since game 1 versus Dallas. Did you know the Rams are (5-0) when Fuller plays but (2-3) when he doesnt? Well he did miss time due to injury but still thats impressive. Another nugget, against the Bucs Akers and Jefferson both got their first tds and Fuller got his first not one but two ints. The last time a team had two rookies get their first tds and another rookie to get his first int in the same game Week 9 or later was in the 1974 Steelers in Week 10. The Steelers went on to win the Superbowl the season. Im just saying. Loving what the Rams have done with this draft class. You want to know how your Superbowl window doesnt close after you give your QB a big deal? Draft well. Thats what the Rams have done. 5) The NFC East - The Rams definitely feasted on the worst division football. Although its not as bad as people think since the Rams did catch Dallas when they were healhy Week 1 and then had to go to Philly Week 2 when many people had no idea they would be this bad. The Giants actually started playing really well from that Rams game on so I think they are better than people give them credit for. Washington just got bullied by the Rams. I dont think we will ever see a more dominant 2nd half this season if not for awhile than what the Rams did to Washington. Washington I dont think had a first down in the 2nd half. The backup linebacker Reeder for the Rams had 3 sacks and Donald almost broke the single game sack record too. I think he tied it with 4 that day. Just domination. So Im thankful for the NFC East and the Rams making quick work against them. Edited November 26, 2020 by stl4life07

Daniel
A winning dang season, even if we’re in the struggle for the playoffs again. Better than constant 6-10 seasons

Like they still have a shot to make the playoffs and host a playoff game. Also if Wentz is the QB most think he can be he can get hot Eli type or Flacco type in the playoffs and who knows what will happen. So the NFC East still gives the Eagles hope to get into the playoffs.

I can’t dispute that. I will say though that remember that one Giants team that had to go on a run late in the season just to grab the last wildcard spot and they ended up winning the Superbowl that year. If I’m not mistaken Eli led the NFL that year in interceptions. The one thing they had in common with the Eagles is they had a great DL. All it took for Eli to get hot and he did. If Wentz gets hot for a 3 game stretch (assuming they make the playoffs) and let that DL take over games who knows what can happen.

Them being “division champs” would just be putting a rose in a giant turd. also the draft difference is like 15 spots.
Trentwannabe
That Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott didn’t view making the playoffs as good enough. They got aggressive and added a true difference maker to an offense that’s needed one for decades.
AkronsWitness
1) Kevin Stefanski- It took 47 tries, but we finally have a HC who was able to form a identity with the Browns and all players seem to be bought in to him. Thank You Minny. 2) The Chubber- He's Nick Chubb. End of story. 3) Kareem Hunt- The Browns wouldn't have their identity if it wasn't for both guys. Kudos for Reem to pick himself up after KC. 4) Andrew Berry- For being able to have a plan in the off-season of 'working together at all levels of the organization' and actually executing it unlike any other pervious regime. For the first time in 20 years, the Browns front office looks competent. Thank You Philly. 5) Myles Garrett- The piece that makes the whole defense go. Thanks you being as good as advertised and not adding to the list of #1 pick busts.
Beavis
In a frustrating season lots of young guys are improving quickly. Despite the 4-6 record it might be Zims best coaching job since 2017. Justin Jefferson is an absolute stud. Gladney looks like a really nice #2 CB and is arguably the best run stopping CB in the NFL already as a rookie, Ezra Cleveland has been great at RG. Dalvin missed him vs Dallas. DJ Wonnum looks like hes developing on the same path Danielle Hunter did. Situational player as a rookie so he can make plays. If he bulks up a bit and improves vs the run this defense could have 2 All-Pro DEs for a long time. Getting Wonnum in the 4th could look like robbery a couple years down the line. With Barr and Pierce coming back next year. This defense could be absolutely nasty again.
