It became pretty clear with Sarachan getting extended through the rest of 2018 that this wasn't going to be a quick appointment. I fully expect Sarachan to be the manager through the fall friendlies, and then a new manager be hired to start 2019.

I said this almost two months ago regarding hiring Osario: On 7/9/2018 at 11:33 AM, Woz said: The only question is: would he agree to the new GM/manager structure US Soccer is implementing? I wonder if other candidates want to see what powers Ernie Stewart has and/or US Soccer is trying to see if this split in powers will work. 5 hours ago, rcon14 said: I fully expect Sarachan to be the manager through the fall friendlies, and then a new manager be hired to start 2019. Barring Sarachan falling flat on his face, I wouldn't assume that there's going to be a new guy in 2019.
SalvadorsDeli
End of an era. One of the best ever for us, both in terms of the national team and what he accomplished in Europe. Wild that him and LD ended up exactly tied for the all-time scoring record for the national team.

rcon14
V excited for the 5-3-2/5-4-1 bunker fest against Brazil and then a defensive 4-1-4-1 against Mexico. USMNT is back baby

Are my eyes deceiving me (or due to the choppiness of the video), but was he playing CAM and/or DM at various points? The USMNT is not allowed to have good players at those positions. That's in the FIFA bylaws, somewhere. I know it is.

Dude looks really, really promising. The Bundesliga is going to single handedly save the USMNT.
rcon14
Pulisic has a calf strain. Severity unknown at this point. Could be anywhere from 2 weeks to 3-4 months depending on the severity.
LeeEvans
It has been 13 months since the US has had a full time manager. That is an embarrassment.
SalvadorsDeli
I haven't watched a USMNT game in months at this point. What's the point? Whole thing's a dumpster fire and it's hilarious that they're waiting these several decades before hiring a manager again just to trot out Gregg Berhalter. amac
I'm pretty confused as to how Berhalter became the leading candidate.
