I’m probably wrong but right now I’m just thinking the top 6 can’t be this predictable to where it’s Cade, green, Mobley, Suggs, Barnes, Bouknight. There’s always a surprises

No idea why you keep grouping Bouknight in the top 6. The top 6 pretty much according to everyone is Cade, Green, Mobley as the top 3 in some order followed by Suggs then Kuminga/Barnes in some order.

Not top 6 in terms of talent.  Top 6 in terms of picks.

Of all the comps...that's the one you're making?

As prospects they're similar. Big PG's with questionable shooting (Lonzo was a way better shooter at UCLA) who's best traits were that they're "winners", "playmakers", and "play defense." When Lonzo was coming out his main comp was Jason Kidd, so is Suggs.

I'd say Suggs is probably a better defender at the same stage but he also played against nobodies for 90% of the season, Lonzo was a way better passer coming out.

Suggs could play a Livingston type of role, he just can't shoot really, like at all.

LOL, can't shoot at all? Stop living and dying with the college percentages. He will be just fine as a shooter in the league. Lamelo in year one shot 35% from down town on high volume and 76% from the FT line and you swore he was going to be the worst shooter ever.

Suggs shooting form and everything is good. He's not going to be a bad shooter, that's ridiculous. By year three we can revisit this.

The Bouknight going #6 rumors just started leaking, a ton of smoke screens in the draft. Knowing that a team like Memphis, Charlotte, or Golden State could be targeting him it definitely plays in OKC's favor if that's who other teams think they want so they can make a trade down.

Except it's been rumored that OKC wants to move up.

The surprise you're looking for would be Bouknight going top 6.

Suggs shooting consistency last season was pretty damn bad. He had a few good shooting games but couldn't consistently hit the 3. Like half of his 3PM came in 4 games, in their other 26 games he averaged 0.7 3PM at a 23% clip, and like 20% of his 3PM were in a single game, lol. Lonzo Ball shot 41% from 3 at UCLA and struggled with efficiency his first 2 years in the league, every player is different. MCW was also ROY with a similar stat line to LaMelo.

He has gotten a little overrated in the draft process, jack of all trades, master of none.

For Cade Cunningham, which isn't happening. If they're not a fan of Kuminga/Barnes, then it makes sense to leak they like Bouknight to maximize a return on a trade down.

Player A

Quote

Strengths

Elite court vision and passing accuracy, allowing him to whip the ball upcourt in transition.

Impressive intangibles; high basketball IQ, sees plays develop early, selfless decision-maker, creative.

Height advantage over small guards.

High pick-and-roll playmaking upside as he already understands how to make reads, change speeds, and use hesitations.

Complementary off-ball scorer who can shoot from deep and make smart cuts.

Excellent instincts on defense: jumps passing lanes for steals and flies in from outside to ****** rebounds; has good off-ball-defense potential.

Weaknesses

Bizarre shooting mechanics—a hitch and low release—limit his dribble jumper. He’s currently a nonfactor scoring from midrange.

Lacks a deep arsenal of dribbling moves, though he’s talented enough to make up for an average first step.

Unable to get to the rim consistently, and when he does, he often avoids contact. Needs to add Curry-like crafty finishes.

Lean frame could hinder him in matchups against stronger guards, and he doesn’t always stay in his stance.

Player B

Quote

Strengths

Smooth and decisive playmaker who takes care of the ball and has the vision to deliver passes on the floor that most players won’t dream of. Unselfish: He will look for the extra pass in the half court or throw it ahead on the break.

Confident scorer with a tight handle who can be fed the ball when his team is in need of buckets.

Speedy player who can change gears pressuring the paint, with the awareness to kick out passes if defenses commit to him.

Intelligent off-ball player who can cut, relocate, and screen. Not a knockdown spot-up shooter, but already a good one.

Strong, athletic frame built for absorbing contact at the rim, crashing the boards, and defending multiple positions. His blend of size, agility, and a winning mindset could turn him into an effective versatile defender.

Locked-in defender who can match up against opposing stars man-to-man while rarely suffering lapses off-ball.

Leadership qualities; plays with poise, is well-liked by teammates, and sets a strong example on the floor with his effort and unselfishness.

Weaknesses

Streaky shooter who lacks dynamic 3-point shooting ability off screens and handoffs, though his fluidity suggests he has the potential.

He should incorporate more offbeat or wrong-foot finishes inside instead of relying on his athleticism to fly toward the basket. He added a floater in college, which is one step forward.
