Ok, as a Zion Williamson stan I’ve been trying to figure out who’s the best fit of the top guys if the Pelicans jump into the top 4. I think I’d have it (outside of Cunningham)….

1. Mobley-The ideal big man beside Zion if he truly becomes AD/Chris Bosh lite

2. Green-Blasphemous to say but him and Zion 2020s, homeless man down the block version of Kobe/Shaq???

3. Suggs-I know they have NAW and Kira Lewis but man I love Suggs. A cool headed, high IQ floor general is always of high value. If Lonzo  stays things change here but I think he’s gone.

4a/4b. Kumingha/Barnes-The Pelicans have needed a wing defender forever. Both would fit that need while having the upside of being more than just a “wing defender”.

That’s my list but I defer to the draft guys here and Pelicans fans when it comes to this.

Probably won't jump into the top 4 but assuming you let Lonzo walk in free agency I think Davion Mitchell would be a great pick.

Houston, Minnesota, and Orlando have so much riding on the lottery. Houston could lose their pick potentially, Minnesota could keep/lose their pick, and the Magic could lose the Bulls pick.

I may or may not get much into this draft but, without a first round Bucks pick, it's hard for me to care. Plus, we likely trade that Houston 2nd, even though we shouldn't.

I feel that it's hard to really care about the draft unless your team has a high pick. Unless the Nuggets gift you superstars for free like they've done with us.

Mobley with Zion would be unfair.  Mobley could hide Zion's bad defense with his ability to be an elite rim protecting big man.

Yeah Mobley with Zion would be nice, especially if he continues to improve as a 3 point shooter, they need as much spacing around BI/Zion as possible. If their pick is in the 10-14 range, Kai Jones would be a nice pick as well.

Yeah, I could see New York, Dallas, and Chicago all trying to throw the bag at Lonzo in free agency. Tough to match a $20M+ APY offer sheet for him.

Isaiah Jackson will be a 1st round pick.

I could see it, but he's a Nerlens Noel clone and I would rather not spend a first on a guy who is likely a career back up. Still, some teams hold value in getting good value in those 12-20 mins a back up rim runner is on the court.

Another thing, Vrenz Bleijenbergh needs more love on this forum. 6'10 Playmaker who plays stout defense, finish, and can shoot well. Really good athlete too. For the life of me, I cannot see why a guy like him would be rated under other guys who are projected to be role players. As a floor I think Vrenz is a starting glue guy who can get you 12-7-5-1-1 on good splits.

Def my draft crush this time around.

Outside of the top 5 picks most players in the NBA draft are backups that you hope develop.  Getting a player in the late first who can get 15 mins a game would be a win.

Regarding the two mocks above.... Those are my two ideal players for OKC. Jalen Suggs or Cade Cunningham. Both would fit our slashing positionless fundemental freeform g-league style offense perfectly.

Like basically the coaching philosophy in OKC did a complete 180 from Scott Brooks and Billy Donovan stuck in the 2000's NBA type of coaching. We're like 5 years ahead of the league rn, you just have to watch the games pre tank to see how effective the offense is, even with minimal talent.
