onejayhawk
I said before the season that WR would be one of the surprisingly strong units this season. Tyreek Hill has done his part, but Albert Wilson and Chris Conley have done theirs as well. Now Conley has gone down for the season. Demarcus Robinson was getting good press in preseason, but has been quiet during the regular games. Jehu Chesson is also around, but has no game experience since week 1. The only other WR is DAT. Who steps into the gap? J
TedLavie
Conley plays a specific role for our offense as an outside guy. I don't think DAT can replace him. Robinson, Chesson, and maybe Sentavious Jones if they bring him back, fit that profile a bit more. AP has a good read on it if you're interested: https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2017/10/9/16446190/how-the-kansas-city-chiefs-will-replace-chris-conley-injury
kingseanjohn
I wouldn't mind bringing back Jones. Is he still with the Saints?

starbarkc
Link Arrowhead Pride posted an article on this. Seems to suggest Robinson, which I agree with. I don't see that position as DAT suitable. Chesson is a rookie and the Reid prefers experience of for no other reason than knowledge of the offense. Robinson allows for the smoothest transition. While Conley was developing a niche, it should be said that we shouldn't see much if any drop off in the offense. The role is basically leftovers after Hill, Kelce, and the short passing game get theirs.
onejayhawk
The link was already posted. We will see about Robinson. If he does not work then more two TE sets. J
onejayhawk
A talk session that covers Conley and the future of the X receiver. Conley was a leader, but so is Wilson. From the perspective of outside receiver, Robinson and Chesson are the names discussed. It will be interesting to see what personnel move gets made. https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2017/10/10/16455244/how-will-the-kc-chiefs-replace-chris-conley On a side note, they also discuss how Kelce is progressing and how Cam Erving did. onejayhawk
Another article about Robinson. Robinson, 23, has already logged 32 offensive snaps this season compared to six all year as a rookie. He has caught three passes for 25 yards. “I feel really good about D-Rob,” Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith said. “Obviously, we are bummed for Chris. I think it is an opportunity for Demarcus. I think he is ready. He has been sitting and watching and growing a lot. He has a ton of ability. So I am excited for him to get in and get an opportunity.” http://www.kansascity.com/sports/nfl/kansas-city-chiefs/article178336166.html He is also very familiar with the team's rookie QB. That may be more important in 2018. J
onejayhawk
Another article on the loss of Conley. The point that sticks out concerns blocking. http://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/what_does_the_loss_of_chris_conley_mean_for_the_kansas_city_chiefs/s1_7899_24775814 J
