What's going on out there?

Man who knows.

We have all the talent in the world and our O looked lethal the first two weeks. Then we decided to pull a complete 180. Our rookie OC is far too green. He is in over his head it appears and doesn't know how to scheme whatsoever. He has no clue how to utilize his players, especially Cooper. Who had TWO targets yesterday iirc. Our expensive and supposed "elite" O-line has been very underwhelming, especially Penn who may be done. Lynch is over the hill and although can break tackles still, has little speed to break through the hole. Crabtree is still a boss. Our new TE Cook is inconstent and soft AF. And then there is Carr, who looks to fold like a tent when theres pressure (which there has been this year). He just doesn't look like himself. He will make the occasional throw still where only Rodgers could probably make, then he'll miss an open WR on a slant.

It's a combination of our line playing poor, our RB's being weak which puts us in a hole, Carr looking off, Cooper being a completely non-factor, and our OC doesn't know how to scheme.

You think Alex Smith is the 5th best QB in the NFL!? Really? Do people really think he went from solid QB, to borderline elite, over the offseason as a 33 year old? If you've always been high on Smith, then apologies (although that creates a whole new slew of question). This is 2015 Andy Dalton all over again. Alex Smith is playing phenomenal right now, but it's nothing more than a great stretch of play. I'd be willing to wager a lot on that. A career long "solid" QB doesn't become elite in his 30s.

It's only been 5 games so not much has changed since my preseason QB rankings, except for the younger guys and Big Ben whose heart I am questioning, just get the feel he has checked out for good.

  1. Rodgers
  2. Brady
  3. Brees
  4. Ryan
  5. Wilson
  6. Stafford
  7. Luck
  8. Rivers
  9. Carr
  10. Ben
  11. Cam
  12. Alex
  13. Eli
  14. Winston
  15. Mariota
  16. Cousins
  17. Wentz
  18. Prescott
  19. Flacco
  20. Dalton

Bradford not even worth ranking but he'd been in the 13-17 range.

Maybe Bill Musgrave wasn't that big of a problem......

On big bens 5 ints, 2 were tipped, one his WR fell down, and the other was with 2 min left down by 2 tds having to throw it up

Ben hasnt been good thus far this year...no one can argue that, but since his last game, you have a bunch of disloyal Steeler fans claiming Ben should retire immediately and that he sucks.       Ive been critical of Ben this year myself, but I havent completely written him off like some of these fairweather fans have.    It is time to start looking for a new QB next year, regardless of whether Ben retires or not, though.
