Or could that tweet be of an substance to the York’s? It doesn’t help that he just got extended too...He’s always a GM candidate every year, but luckily we are able to hold onto him. The last report that someone mentioned where Peters is the heavy lifter and Lynch is more about socializing (gossiping) with others makes me a little nervous that if he were to move on we would be screwed! Even if we could/did, I believe the issue is Kyle has final say on the roster so its like your the GM but you really aren't. So idk how attractive that would be to Peters...

So only way to block him would be Shanny giving up playcalling. Which then can lead to a mess where guys are getting "Playcalling" only for it to change before the season. Not sure where you are getting the playcalling part of this from. Maybe from Kyles interviews/reasoning as to why he blocked Mike LeFleur and McDaniels from other OC jobs last year? He said that he would allow guys to go elsewhere if it was a true promotion. The rule is that you can no longer block teams from interviewing guys to become coordinators elsewhere. Kyle had blocked both guys from even interviewing last year because they werent going to be playcallers. That was before the rule was enacted though, playcalling is not part of the rule since it brings up too much grey area. It doesnt say anything about assistant head coaches though, so I will just assume they arent protected by this clause.

Just a quick search already brings up two different explanations. They both are in a role where they are part of gameplanning just not the sole voice. So it comes down to what is a bona fide OC/DC. So you can certainly argue both McDaniel and LaFleur would be able to go somewhere where they are a true OC in terms of being the top dog while they still can be blocked from opportunities like LaFleur going to work with the Packers. https://www.profootballrumors.com/2020/05/nfl-to-change-policy-on-coordinator-interviews https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-owners-approve-resolution-that-allows-assistant-coaches-to-interview-for-coordinator-positions/

Justone2
Thats the second guy so far who has been around a lot the past few years in terms of interviews to be hired as a GM this year. First Paton now Fitterer.

For whatever reason, GM's get more breathing room than HC's. So, fingers crossed....we get to keep Peters?

Falcons seem to be going with Fontenot while the Jaguars are more looking for an former GM to basically run the personnel side without having final say. And totally forgot about Caserio who also was one of those guys that seemed to pop up yearly. Guess Ed Dodds will have to wait another year too as another one of those guys that get brought up every time. Basically, they are just looking for a CEO type. Nobody they hire is going to oversee both sides of the ball.
