Finally, writers with national cred stepped in, did the research, and exposed Easterby for exactly what he is: a ruthless climber with a thin veneer of religion to cover it. Now Craven Cal has nowhere to hide regarding his pet snake oil salesman.

Well that's a pretty damning article. I think the comparison to Littlefinger is pretty apt. The biggest thing is we just don't know anything about him. In thinking about ET's answer on Rick Smith, we have a pretty good idea who Rick Smith is; we've heard him answer questions, seen what he did for the Texans, know what his role was, his personality, his qualifications as to why he was hired as GM, etc. With Easterby, we're basically Jon Snow in that we know nothing. Who he is, his story, his background, everything is shrouded in darkness.

Cal still won't fire Easterby, how many articles have we seen on BOB in the last few years and they went so far to promote him lol.

The Texans org knew that this article was coming. Article basically says it and Cal goes so far to say that Jack is undergoing "personal attacks". Lmao? What do you mean? His resume and record is being criticized.

Cal can keep paying Jack 300k a year to be an oil snakesman with some other McNair business investment but leave this sports organization alone. The fact that Cal says the new GM can make the choice on if Easterby is coming and going is the only good part of this entire saga.

I don't think Cal is going to make this decision - he's going to trust his GM and his "Fantastic Five" to figure this out.

This article is so frustrating because anyone with two eyes could realize what Easterby was doing, yet McNair just let it happen and his franchise is now set back, potentially years, because of it.

Even if McNair is finally realizing that Jack has no business working in this capacity on an NFL team and is trying to correct the ship with the new search committee he announced, it is extremely damning that he allowed him to get this far.

Im shocked Easterby doesn't have a warrant in Houston right now. He robbed us fans.

*Shrug

I'd be willing to catch a case to get Easterbunny out of here - I'll hit him with a golf club or something, I dunno.

was listening to the GM shuffle and lombardi was talking abt the article and going on about how Easterbunny is such a good guy and bc of that he's made enemies in the building who want to smear his name

it sort of reinforced some thoughts ive had about Lombardi over the past year where he's gone out of his way to defend BoB, where i kind of think BoB or maybe Easterby is one of his 'informants' in houston

just so sick of the NE web of goons in this org

Yes, because we all know fellow good guy JJ Watt has to watch his back when walking up and down the halls of NRG... Haters gonna come at him and cut his throat, I tell you what.

Seriously, Michael Lombardi is such a knob...

I will bet - dimes to dollars - Amy Palcic was a BIG contributor to this story.

I just heard from a pretty solid source that one of the contributors to this story is...

... Bill O'Brien. 😳
