I can assure you the Ravens won't be drafting Da'Ron Payne. We have Brandon Williams and Michael Pierce, two of the top run stuffing DIs in the league. Willie Henry, who is a 23 year old ascending do it all talent at 5 tech that produced big for us in his first year getting playing time. Behind them is three 3rd rounds picks from the last three years, you guys don't have to worry about us taking a BPA DT.

Unless Derwin James and Calvin Ridley are both gone, Davenport is gone, and they can't secure a trade down. Then maybe I could see them picking Taven Bryan if he has an amazing combine and he profiles as an Aaron Donald type player after a couple years of development to the FO. Even then I think we're more likely to look for impact by reaching for a WR or taking a BPA HB(Guice?,Jones?).

Yea but....it's Bama?:P

I like Jaylon Samuels, but he seems like a rich mans Rod Smith. I would like to bring in a back that can offer something to our corp that we may not already have in Rod Smith. Simply, I dont want both our backup RBs to be FB tweener/Bruisers. 1 is fine, desired even.

I love 98% of it, especially since it's not the regular mock I've seen where people think a top-50 talent will fall to our 3rd and 4th pick!

Just my input:

- I'm not really hot on resigning Wilber.  Even though he'll be cheaper than Hitchens and contributes heavily on special teams, he's a one-dimensional back-up to a LB position (SLB) that rarely sees the field as is. He's not even an option at MLB or WLB.  Not saying don't resign him, but we're gonna need to resign Hitchens or find an experienced MLB/WLB in FA that has position flex for the back-up role (assuming Jaylon keeps improving to starter status).  Having just a rookie and Wilson as the two LBs that will cover SLB and back up duties for MLB/WLB scares me a bit considering who knows how many games Sean Lee might miss. If Wilson was playing even at the level of rookie Hitchens, I'd be 'okay' with it, but he's not.

- I'd like to see us keep a 3rd RB. I like Rod Smith, but don't feel confident about him carrying the rock 20+ times a game if Zeke is out.  I don't know anything about this Jaylen Samuels kid. Can he actually perform RB duties or is he really just a FB?

- I see you have Irving on the D-line.  Am I assuming that we give him a 2nd rd. tender?

- I love the idea of cutting Crawford but I think we have to wait until 2019 because we'll be eating a ton of dead money. Basically, he, like Dez, are almost cheaper to keep next year than cut.   In 2019, though, CUT AWAY!

There's no way Hitchens re-signs. Why would he? He knows he can start at mike for someone, and get paid to do it. We won't start him, and that means we won't give him starter money. The writing was on the wall after the Smith pick.

I get it. But it's a value game at that point. Samuels actually allows us to move away from Keith as he can function as both FB and a pass-catcher. Plus he plays special teams.

So the question then becomes, what RB would see any significant playing time to warrant being on the 53? I could see then, if Samuels is the pick, a Undrafted FA RB bruiser added. Especially once it is shown Keith is expendable.

Correct. Hitchens can walk into Indy and get a starting gig. We play mostly 2 Lbers. So Hitchens has to play only when we go 3LBers or there is an injury. He isn't the future and isn't offered a lot of money here.

Hitchens is our best shot at a good comp. Mike plays plenty of snaps if healthy, and should sign a respectable deal.

Also correct. I expect Indy to make him paid very nicely.

Wilber was signed with the intention of being cheap, special teams guy, who can also put his hand in the dirt from time to time. Dallas loves that kind of versatility. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to move on from him - but I don't want to invest highly in it.

Hitchens, as @DaBoys pointed out, is unlikely to day.

Yeah, I think you will like Samuels. He can be a RB. TE. HB. KR. FB. He is the swiss army knife. WIll get you a link soon for him.
I give Irving a 1st round Tender, but I know I am in the minority.

Didn't look at the #'s for Crawford, but you may be right. Will look at it for next time.

Nice breakdown. Click on this tweet and scroll down.

Yea I picked up Jaylen in a few draft sims after I saw 2 games on him. He is a very nice 3rd down specialist. And a realistic one considering how JG and Linehan loves their receivers out of the backfield.
