When you look at teams like Miami and Arizona who's rebuilds are ahead of schedule, it's really hard seeing the Raiders struggle so poorly. Especially when the Raiders had didn't have to find a QB.

Worse, the division is only going to get better. Herbert looks poised to be a problem in LA for years. Denver has a lot of talent and is a QB away from putting it together.

Gruden is going to have to earn his money this offseason. After complete collapses 2 seasons in a row, how long can he keep player focused and willing to show up for you?

Right now.... this is playing out just like his final seasons in Tampa. Poor drafts, poor talent acquisition and coaching. He's not 25-41 in games in December when they count, it's not good enough.

Those 2 teams have/had rookie qbs you can’t rebuild around carr. It’s almost impossible to win A sb without a qb on a rookie contract unless you’re Brady or manning. Ariz even dropped their old rookie qb for a new 1.

Yet KC paid Mahomes the largest contract in football. Then still paid Kelce, Hill, Clark and Chris Jones.

And they will be the favorites to win the Superbowl as long as Mahomes is the QB.

Carr's contract is very reasonable and neither MIA nor ARI is building by signing a bunch of expensive FAs.  MIA signed Byron Jones who we were after as well.

Miami just signed Byron Jones, Shaq Lawson, and Kyle Van Noy to big contracts in free agency last offseason.

But they got pat by....... dumping Alex Smith and his mediocrity and ...... drafting pat hell even trading up to draft pat. Let’s see if they win the sb again even Russ couldn’t do it after he got his $

Should Gruden be getting more heat?  Absolutely but the question is this....  Is he getting heat from Mark Davis?   I don't think he is because Davis knows he has no other legit options who are ill to coach here.

Gruden is similar to our FA acquisitions over the last few decades.  Big names who come here and sh!t the bed.  Sadly it's going to be like this until we can start to win games.  No respectable FA players will come here unless they are getting top dollar and no coaches will want to coach here unless they have no other options.

Losing and gettin embarrassed is not fun for players and coaches, it also damages their potential for another contract once their time here is over.

We need to turn our D around desperately, need to trim some fat off the Oline, need a WR reception hog who can go over the middle and dominate and also we need to nail our draft.  Bottom line we need a lot of help.

So we should be getting a new QB every 4-5 years then ?

Lets look at our most expensive FA signings over the last few years

1. Byron Jones ($16.5 per year) vs Trent Brown ($16.5 per year)

2. Kyle Van Noy ($12.75 per year) vs Corey Littleton ($11.67 per year)

3. Shaq Lawson ($10 per year) vs Tyrell Williams ($11 per year)

Lets not forget that we were going after Byron Jones very hard.  Cap space is not the issue here, play acquisition is.

We traded Khalil Mack and Amari Cooper for 3 1st round draft picks over the last 2 years.

Of course cap space/draft picks haven't been the issue. We've just blown all of our resources on average/below average players instead of difference makers.
