After a lengthy hiatus, and a pretty successful relaunch of the draft only FFMD II last year, we are proud to announce that we will be bringing back the full Free Agency and Draft FFMD I coming END OF JANUARY/EARLY FEBRUARY 2021.

There has been a group of us spearheaded by @ny92mike that has been working on a new model for how to run the free agent portion which we think will be more objective, action packed and fun. We've been refining the style of mock as an individual mock in the forum for the last several years and it has been named Total Control Mock Draft. We are now ready to roll out the model as a forum wide mock offseason!!!!!!

WHAT IS GONE?

No more Talent Agency.

No more trade council.

No more Shark Tank.

No more writing pitches.

The goal here was to make the free agency portion more objective and less subjective in order to make it more fun overall. We realize that some of you really liked the Talent Agency and pitches portion of FFMD I, but what we all could agree on in the hiatus is that the system was flawed and needed revamping. So here we go!

WHAT IS NEW?

Every player who is released or a free agent is available to all teams right from the start of free agency.

Every player is assigned an "asking price" or APY of what they are looking to be paid. This number is based off a few resources including PFF and Madden Ratings. Some players will be asking for way too much money and some players are undervalued.

Each "round" of free agency every team gets to bid on up to 4 players (any 4 players) 3 UFA' bids and 1 Resign bid. These bids are blind and are submitted to a google doc. Every couple days the bidding stops and the highest bidders receive the player.

You never know who else is bidding on the same players as you until all is revealed. Are you bidding way too much? Are you bidding not enough???  Is there 10 teams wanting to sign this player or are you the only one bidding? Who knows????????

Each "round" of free agency that a player goes unsigned their asking price (APY) drops by 10%, so players get "cheaper" as free agency goes forward.

There are more features and bells and whistles to this process. We've tested this over several seasons and have worked out a lot of kinks and bugs and loopholes in the system. We won't pour on any more of the nitty gritty on you right now, but there is more to it. We are also figuring out ways to support GM's and individual team War Rooms to make it a great experience for all.

We will also have a Writer's Room for leaks, rumors, reactions and excitement.

Feel free to use this forum to ask any questions you might have and most of all......

We hope you will consider getting involved in your team's forum and being a part of FFMD I: The Return.

It was the first 4 rounds of the draft only iirc

I was pretty sure we only did the draft....though I think we did all 7 rounds.

This is going to be a different animal then for some forums. It's one thing to do the draft, another to start messing around in the workbooks. Hopefully every team has at least one person who is familiar enough with the set up. Looks like I may be taking on the GM mantle for the niners if we are going this route lol

Most subs have someone involved in TCMD that can help out.

Just getting into the workbook building of this beast so any suggestion on making it easier is appreciated.

@Forge is there anything that you feel is overly challenging related to the workbooks?

I think we can set up a tutorial with screen shots of the main pieces of sheets with instructions that should be able to guide owners well enough

I think the workbooks are super easy. I am just not sure if people want to learn. We have a hard enough time finding volunteers to gm as it is sometimes

It’s 2020, almost everything is done now with google docs and sheets. I feel like most people will be fine especially with a group of us designated to help people troubleshoot

League Office thread created.

I've linked the official rosters along with the free agency and draft (order has not been updated).

Give your team rosters a look over, I know that there are some contracts that aren't correct because they have recently been extended or released, which I'll update again prior to the start.

Salary cap this year could be an issue, because of the projected cap being less than the previous year so a lot of teams are starting out in the red, so we may need to do something so that it isn't a challenge to get out of the red...anyway something to think about.

This is what I was referring to about the available cap of some of these teams, this is partly due to the reduced league salary cap this year being reduced by about 20million.
