Week 15 GDT: Ravens vs Jags - Keep the Momentum Rolling

That Texans fumble was so annoying. Watson was absolutely dealing and they probably would have gone for 2 and won had they just held on to the football.

Hopefully the Steelers beat the Colts next week to take the suspense out of this in terms of our route to the playoffs. Good news i guess is that if the Steelers do lose to the Colts next week, Buffalo won't be resting starters Week 17 vs. Miami since the 2 seed will be in play for them. Even with no bye and no fans, avoiding the Chiefs till the AFCCG and not traveling for the 1st 2 rounds would be pretty appealing I would think.

Pretty weak though if the difference between our 11-5 season and another AFC team's 11-5 season was where we had half our team miss important games because of Covid in that NE-TEN-PIT stretch and they got to 11-5 because they played a team resting their starters week 17.

In a purely technical sense that's true but it's not like there's not a lot of bad luck involved here. To go 11-5 and miss the playoffs is extraordinarily rare, and something you'd expect to be impossible with the addition of the 3rd wild card. Throw in the unprecedented nature of the COVID forcing us to lose a game by default (I know that's likely the fault of a Ravens coach, but the players are the ones who are essentially punished the most there for their bosses' transgressions), plus that random monsoon in New England that literally ended the second our final drive got stopped and you have some really bad breaks potentially conspiring against us, especially if you add 'every team winning out above us for the final month of the season' to the list.

Hard not to look at the playoff race in the NFC - where a 7-9 team will likely win the NFC East and 9-7 will probably be enough to lock up the 7 seed - and feel some justified annoyance about our predicament.

First thing's first though, just gotta win out to at least give us that moral high ground to whine about this endlessly. 🤣

FYI everyone: $50 on a Colts/Dolphins moneyline parlay this weekend would win you $138 (you'd get back $188).

Some sportsbooks may not let you add the Browns to that because they're such a heavy favorite, but still, they're going to beat the Jets regardless. If they do let you add the Browns though that's $178.

If you'd trade $50 (or $20 or whatever you're comfortable with) for the Ravens making the playoffs, I'd suggest you do this. Best case the Dolphins and/or Colts lose and we're probably in the playoffs. Worst case you just made a smooth $138 (with a chance to make more $ or Ravens playoffs week 17)

We lost to a bad NE team, then we completely ignored COVID protocols that resulted in the PIT game with our practice squad. Again, if we miss out, we did it to ourselves.

Luck, or just there's a lot of good AFC teams this year with easy schedules (like us!)?

Let's be completely honest here, we all know the players also didn't follow protocols. It's not like one coach walked into a room full of players wearing masks and following guidelines and spread 4 strains of the virus through our clubhouse.

We still lost to a NE team that had no business competing with us, regardless of the weather. It monsooned most of the game for them, too, and we couldn't stop their JV-squad offense.
