Sugashane
If it's not baked in a pie then it's almost irrelevant to me. Great movie reference though.

Shanedorf
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honeycrisp "The apple wasn't bred to grow, store or ship well. It was bred for taste: crisp, with balanced sweetness and acidity."[2] It has larger cells than most apple cultivars, a trait which is correlated with juiciness, as theoretically a higher number of cells rupture when bitten releases more juice in the mouth."
animaltested
Honey Crisp, Cosmic Crisp, Fuji, and Pink Lady are superior in everyway. Braeburn and Gala are solid.
Daniel
For out of hand eating, it's really hard to beat honeycrisps. They're dang near perfect. For cooking, things change depending on what it is you're cooking.

Honeycrisp is tops for me, but is typically available in fall. Gala is more widely available and consistent in crispness, sweetness. Granny Smith are good in some salads and with some party snack dips McIntosh is my go to for baking apple crisp.
