Most of us are banking on Trubisky blowing it more so than you guys winning. Similar to what Goff just did to us. Last home game of the season for you guys I am interested in seeing how the fans respond. Will they cheer for you guys to win, if so the momentum could be enough to push the players to get it done one last time. If they you guys are booing them for making good plays tho, will that motivate them even more to try and win.

I know our players were fed up with the tank talks and it motivated them to play harder than ever.

Think the difference is our place has been packed with opposing fans with the few that can come the last several weeks and Bears fans travel well.

The other issue is how many guys are out. We have a lot of journeymen/UDFAs on defense playing and our QB play (Minshew more so than Glennon even) has been atrocious. James Robinson also sprained his ankle last week.

But yeah, of Trubisky turns it over/gives us great field position than points can go up.

If that’s the case, why wouldn’t the team that ends up with pick number not just trade back and draft Lance? Lance seems to have all the tools Fields has. Both throw pretty deep balls. But if both need to sit, why not just go with the guy that’s likely going to go in the 6-15 range?

Trading back for a QB is a terrible idea.

If you have them graded as a franchise caliber QB, you take them. Lance also isn't the prospect Fields is and there's a hell of a lot more questions coming from NDSU with that small amount of tape and competition then Fields. When taking a QB prospect, you want the guys with the most talent/potential with the least risk. Fields/Wilson is definitely ahead of Lance in that category by just about everyone and deservedly so.

Oddly enough you guys are damn near identical offensively in terms of statistics, they just have a better defense.

Although yes, they're 5-2 when starting Trubisky and although sometimes ugly, have a much better QB situation than what we've seen out of JAX. Montgomery seems to have turned it on too.

Think it's funny seeing some of you think Minshew being benched is tanking. Dude has been god awful this year since week 2. Most of our blowouts have been with him at the helm.

To be fair, the hype for him started back in October. He’s shown high level throws all year. As Jets fans, we haven’t been talking about him mostly because we’ve been locked into that number 1 pick. And that’s Lawrence all the way.

It just seems like last nights game ramped it up tremendously because he was playing pitch and catch against UCFs defense.

too risky to use the #2 pick on IMO but I’ll trust Douglas to make the call

Thats the problem, we can't "take a chance on" a guy, we need players not chances.  Take a sure thing rather than a player who could be another Sam Darnold and have to re-start in 3 years yet again.

This is a horrible take every player has risks, with that mentality we’ll be waiting 15 years for the next Lawrence.

Schefter thinks if we don’t get the first pick we’re rolling with Darnold, idk if it’s smokescreen but if true smh

If we were actually close to the combine time, I'd look into this. Players are still playing and we're still scouting, there is no way it was Lawrence or die this soon. lol

He was playing last night so it makes sense but he’s always been an option.

In terms of his ability I mean it’s undeniable he throws a great ball, fastest release of anything of the QBs, great arm strength, can throw off platform, good ball placement and accuracy.

Level of competition is a question mark for any of these kids so it’s always going to be tough to see how the my translate to the pros.

I don't want to draft a quarterback with the second pick. F that. How many times must we go down that well and screw it up? Enough already. Lawrence was the sure thing. He's gone, so now let's go to plan B.

Whether Darnold is here or not, we need to bring in someone to compete (aka take his job away) with him. If the consensus No. 2 player in this draft is an offensive tackle (and it sounds like that is exactly the case), you take him. Fant becomes the swing tackle (which is where he fits best), Edoga is sent packing and we establish a power running game that could be dominant. If the quarterback (whomever it is) has time, he should be able to do well.

At this point, I am looking shorter term without Lawrence. Let's get respectable.

Hes simply speculating because there is no way those conversations are happening before we hire a new coach. Whatever they do decide, Joe Douglas and the selection for Head Coach need to be 1000% on the same page with the decision at QB no matter who it is.

No matter who we get in the draft, he will always be playing in the shadows of Trever Lawrence. And if he doesn't produce God help him. The New York press & local sports radio will destroy him. NO way will they have the same patience they had with Darnold, for three years. If Joe Douglas has a huge draft that should keep the wolves away for his first year. We have the picks & money to finally bring in the right players.
