How would Ojulari fare as a base 4-3 DE?

He’d get walked back. He has good length despite being 6’2 and has some strength to his punch but he gets his body controlled too much once he’s clamped on and doesn’t set a strong enough edge. Situationally as a pass rush specialist? Sure. But all downs? I don’t like the fit personally.

He's more Von Miller than Miles Garrett

Von Miller has been one of the best run defending edges since he entered the league and could hold up as a base 4-3 end (essentially his role his first couple of years in Fox's system iirc). I get what you're saying but even saying he's a poor man's von would probably be too high praise to Ojulari.

I mean sure but he’s not in either guys universe.

The most popular comp is Ngakoue, and I think it's pretty apt.    Maybe he'll develop into a run stopping disruptor, but for now all his value comes on passing downs.    Pretty special pass rusher, but very limited run stopping game ATM.

Flashes of lethal speed and explosion, but 80% of the time would be locked up in my opinion. He would be awkward for anyone to deal with if he got his long arm into your chest though.

Payton Turner and Jordan Smith both have their pro day on Friday. Which one tests better?

Jordan Smith for sure. Turner is a better overall player tho.

Ojulari is really good at closing down gaps against zone schemes. He plays really hard against the run and does the little things right, but lacks the size to be effective when teams run at him. He almost has to be a 3-4 OLB or a pass rush only guy. I love him as a 3-4 guy, because he’s shown the hips to drop and cover pretty well.

Turner is going a lot higher than people think

Eh, I guess he could be fine if he comes in at around 260, he could be a Trent Cole, Leonard Little, Ngakoue type of undersized guy. I am just concerned that he is nowhere to be found vs any type of elite tackle

Based off of movement of both guys, I'd guess Smith

Did Ojulari drop back into coverage at all at Georgia, or strictly a passrusher?

I'm pretty sure the Giants are going to take an edge defender in either round 1 or 2.  My personal preference is that they trade down in the first round and draft either Oweh or Ojulari.

Anyone else feel like this a very odd year for some of these rankings, based on measureables?

It's crazy reading about these guys ranked after the 1st round of the draft, that hit all the athletic minimums needed to be a successful edge guy.

Edge guys later in the draft, you can always find limitations.  Feels like there are a bunch of special athletes that are gonna be Day 2 and Day 3 picks.
