mse326
That's a lot UNLESS they think Snell can consistently go 7 innings or so. I know he was coming off injury last year and the CF with Covid so it certainly isn't unreasonable but that is what he needs to do. With that said I love what the Padres have done/are doing. Using their great system to maximal effect. Not trading the farm and actually keeping their best guys, but trading the guys that would be best on most other teams for the players that have already proven it. Dodgers have some decent youth too though. Watching them duke it out will be fun for the next decade.
Eagles27
Maybe it's a lot... but I don't see this as anything but a win for the Padres. The fact that they can get a guy as talented as Snell (who also has a nice deal) without sending Gore, Abrams, Campusano, or Hassell is incredible. hrubes20
I actually really like this for both sides.
flyguy1609
Not a bad move for the Padres if they don’t win the ws in 21, they be the favorite in 22? Snell clevinger & gore as the top 3 sps and amongst everything else they have

In a vacuum I wouldn't like this for the Rays, but the Rays have different priorities than typical competitive teams. Their starting pitching depth is a little concerning, though. Bonanza23
I’m really shocked to see Mejia traded yet again. I was lambasted not to long ago about not being too concerned about letting him go. Probably nobody remembers. Oh well what’s a boy to do?

Being a big part of a trade for a CYA winner that is still pretty young and pitching well doesn't help your stance. Probably even hurts it. Let me know how a stud prospect that has been given up on twice already does. Sounds like a pretty even trade? Is he still the stud you guys tried convincing me we gave up? Just because someone gets dealt multiple times doesn't mean they aren't legit prospects.
