    Noteables
-     Packers Win the Super Bowl, pick 32
-     NFL agrees to smooth the cap hit some, with the 14 team playoffs and 17 game season and upcoming TV contract, salary cap beats most expectations and comes in at 198.2 million, making it exactly the same as 2020.
-     Sportrac presently puts the Packers at about 198.5 million in 2021 cap commitment, which is including 2021 draft picks, PS, etc.
-     Also has the Packers at about 4.1 millino in 2020 cap rollover
-     All in all, this puts the Packers about 3.8 million under the cap, which is excluding their typical 5-10 million contingency heading into the season.

    Extensions/Signins/Moves
Davante Adams        -    Signs a 3 year 66 million dollar extension, this will also lower Davante's 2021 cap hit from 16.85 to closer to 11.65, saving another 5.2 million.
                15 million cap remaining

Corey Linsley            Signs a 3 year 39 million extension.  I really thought centers were getting more than this.  They aren't, this will make thim the highest paid center in the NFL, I think he is worth it for that.
Down to 5 million in cap

    Round 1 - Pick 32
    Chirstian Barmore             - DL - Alabama 6'5" 311

Quote

Barmore has an already rock solid and mature upper body that makes it hard for blockers to engage and stick against his body. The Alabama interior defender possesses outstanding raw power combined with active/busy and powerful hands that enable his frame to remain clean and disengage when necessary. Excellent with executing swim/arm over moves that allow him to make plays behind the line or in his gap as a run defender. As a redshirt freshman, he was treated mostly as a third down specialist prior to the final four games of the season. He has the versatility to play 1 or 3-technique in an even front, but he’s spent most of his time as a base 4i/4-technique in Alabama’s odd front. This is a prospect that’s only scratching the surface of what he could become and with an expanded role in 2020, it shouldn’t be surprising to see him skyrocket up draft boards.

    Round 2 - Pick 14
    Shaun Wade             - CB - Ohio State 6'1" 194

Quote

Will command your attention quickly when watching the Buckeyes secondary — Wade works primarily from the slot and is given a lot of opportunities to play press coverage or zone in the shallow areas of the field to look to neutralize underneath patterns breaking in any and all directions. There's notable twitch to his game; his acceleration and long speed are undeniable when receivers look to stack him vertically and test him. Love his aggressiveness and the physical power he plays with, Wade is a tone setting player who beats up would be blockers outside the hashes and excels at stepping down as an enforcer vs. screen game and the run. A reliable tackler, Wade has fascinating upside as a chess piece weapon/hybrid defender in the NFL game. His recognition skills as it relates to spacing multiple layers of routes make him a desirable prospect in coverage.

    Damontie Coxie         - WR - Memphis 6'2" 200

Quote

Looking for a third consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season in 2020 and is 69 receptions and 818 yards away from being the program’s all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards. Has tremendous ball skills. Makes terrific adjustments to the football and does well to position his frame to win at the catch point. Body control and balance are excellent. Hands are plucky and he routinely snatches it away from his frame. Does well to hang on through contact, further affirming his secure hands. Physical in everything he does and brings the fight as a blocker. Does a great job playing through contact as a route runner and at the catch point. Decisive and physical with good vision when working after the catch.

    Round 4 - Pick 36 (Comp)
    Charlie Kolar         - TE - Iowa State 6'6" 257

Quote

Kolar is a gangly mover who has a linear frame from top to bottom. Not possessing much tone/muscle mass on his body, but his plays much stronger than his frame indicates as a receiving threat. Utilized from nearly every platform in formations, he’s developed experience from the in-line, hip, and flexed out positions. His hands are as strong as they come and he is always adamant about using his hands to extend and trap the ball out of the air. A terrific traffic catcher, his best plays have come in the red zone and plus areas of the field. In those regions, Kolar creates severe mismatches due to his catch radius, frame, and comfort in traffic. Many of his career touchdowns have come in these areas and it’s an area that the Cyclone offense now targets him because of the benefits consistently shown throughout his career. Overall an average blocker, who isn’t afraid to stick his face in the trenches and do the dirty work even though his play strength to engage and stick in the running game must improve. Most common routes ran: Opposite hash overs, shallow crossers, red zone seam and quick slants from the slot when flexed out.

    Round 5 - Pick 32
    Dimitri Moore        LB - Vanderbilt - 6'3" 225

Quote

Dimitri aligns at ILB for the Commodores even front defense. He’s a sufficient athlete with regards to lateral agility to get through trash and find the football. He demonstrates some pop in his hips on contact. Moore also demonstrates good instincts locating the football in the box and has good production as a tackler. He has good run lane anchor inside and also shows good drop range against the pass. He is sufficient in man coverage situations against the pass but does a good job keeping the ball in front of him, coming up to secure the tackle. There's value as an inside rusher but he needs to do a better job disengaging when his inside rush has been thwarted. Overall this player is a 3 down linebacker who has redeeming value in his versatility and overall efficiency.

    Round 5 - Pick 38 (Comp)
    Jaret Patterson        - RB - Buffalo 5'9" 190

Quote

Do it all running back who’s gotten off to a historic career. Compact build, but often high runner when in the clear, he displays plenty of variance with his running style and can change up depending on the matchup. Patterson is highly effective in between the tackle and in tight spaces where he shown to be capable of maneuvering his way through multiple levels of trash in order to come out clean. Plays with caution when it comes to ball security and often keeps the ball high and tight. One of his best attributes is his lower half and footwork. They always remain hot, active, and ready. Combined with his sufficient contact balance, he’s able to create extra opportunities that weren’t originally present because of his strong frame overall. An easy hands catcher out of the backfield, he can frequently become involved in the passing game.

*** TRADE ***
Packers trade both, both 6's and their 7th for the 30th pick in the 5th round

Round 6 - Pick 5
    Brenden Jaimes        T - Nebraska 6'5" 300

Quote

Brenden aligns at Left Tackle for the Huskers' offense. He has spent significant time at Right Tackle as well, which can offer some appeal with positional flexibility. His athleticism is sufficient with regards to his agility and body quickness. In the run game, he demonstrates good strength to get his feet in the neutral zone. He will get some vertical movement in the run game. He does have ideal block temperament and has moments of good finish. In the passing game, he demonstrates good length on the edge. Jaimes is tough to bull rush due to his good strength and ability to anchor. Overall, this player has redeeming value in his ability to play multiple positions up front. However, he is ideally suited to play Guard. He can get you out of a game at Tackle if necessary, but his ability to swing and play multiple roles should serve as his best asset to him in the NFL.

Not sure about trading up on Day 3, but if we could get Kolar in the 4th I'll be happy like a little girl. I don't see Jones AND King leaving unless someone really overpays for King though I do like the trade up in the 2nd(not sure we'd give up a 3rd however) to 45 because that's usually when you get an incredible find due to teams making a statement in the 1st and reaching on certain players *cough Bruce Irvin cough*. Barmore may be a bit early too, but I'll be more than happy to make that move myself.

Nicely done!

13 per for a center we didn't miss a beat without? That's an easy pass for me.

I like the draft, but we have to give up a lot to replace King, and hope that it works out, otherwise that's a weak secondary with nothing but Jackson or Hollman to fall back on.

Swap Linsley for King and I can really get down with this.

I want king over lindsley too but saying we didn’t miss a beat without him isn’t accurate based on the Titans game, etc. it’s been noticeable different with him and elgton playing their positions.

kind of surprised at no outside free agents, as I think Gutey will go to the bargain bin there. Good job though.

I haven't really seen anything that would indicate to me that we couldn't have done to the Panthers what we did to the Titans if the offense hadn't gotten bored and distracted.

I want to think that you guys say that the cap is going to stay flat because it makes your mocks easier to do and not because you actually believe it. No chance it's going to happen.

If you think its going down to 175 youre much crazier. Theyre going to sign new deals in 2022 for 2 billion annual rights. Theyre not going to make teams cut all their vested vets. ****s not gonna get that shaken.

I agree, lowering the cap so much affects the talent that can be signed and therefore the quality of the product. The last thing the NFL wants is to make teams field a bunch of UDFAs just to get under the cap.

We'll agree to disagree. I can see the cap going down only to 190, but there's a reason why they pushed for the cap to go as low as 165M and then settled for 175M. Cap gurus like guys from OTC or Spotrac are expecting a lower cap as well.

Cap gurus are looking at the CBA, calculating the anticipated revenue losses due to COVID and doing the calculation as is laid out in the CBA.

The CBA will be amended via agreement with players and owners once the season is over. It's inevitable. The insiders are already reporting that the decreased cap is unlikely. Pellisero (sp) was talking about it the other day.

Time will tell where the actual cap will be
