Mortal Kombat - April 23rd

Whelp I enjoyed it and was thoroughly entertained. The amount of nitpicking on such little trivial details here is funny to me. We're talking about a movie where warriors with supernatural powers from competing realms are battling each other for control of the Earth... I wasn't exactly expecting some masterpiece of storytelling...

I was impressed with the costumes and the close depictions to the games. Kabal in particular looked awesome.
I also like how this never got to the tournament. How it was a bunch of ambush fights. Felt more like an origin film. I suspect in the sequel we will actually see the tournament.

They really nerfed Goro he was the tournament champion for hundreds of years. He was a problem in the original games.

Yea this I agree with. Trying to beat Goro in the games was a hair pulling, controller throwing, tantrum throwing nightmare. I don't like that he went out so early and easily. But.... considering he was full CGI (and not very good CGI) I'm totally OK with him not being in the sequel.

The way Tsung spoke at the end made it seem like they could be brought back. Did the movie have flaws? Sure, but i still enjoyed the call backs to the game with the way Kung Lao showed up, Kang and Kano with the leg sweeps. Kabal looked good, the deaths were awesome.

You can just post Stuckmann’s review if you want

Haha....well, he is one of the critics I trust.

There were two others who talked about the quick cutting as well.

Kano’s pop culture references were odd and felt out of place for me. I’m just imagining international criminal Kano settling down in his free time and doing a marathon of the Harry Potter movies or watching Magic Mike.

Hitler liked to paint and loved Charlie Chaplin.

Kim Jung Un loves American pop culture.

I’m not saying you’re a butt, but...
