AlexGreen#20
@Outpost31 finally was able to introduce Mike Pettine to Madden. We should all thank him for showing Pettine the portion of the playbook featuring a safety in the box. This defense looked nothing like the first 15 weeks of the season. It was stacking the box. It was playing man to man. It was fast. It was physical. Hopefully this was a confidence booster, not just for the players, but for Pettine as well. Watching your boundary corners shut down AJ Brown has to be awesome. Watching Savage shut down receivers out of the slot has to be liberating. Watching your DBs get home on blitzes has to be a game changer. There's no reason more of this can't be incorporated into the game plans going forward. This defense has the potential to seriously get after the QB, and the ultra conservative game planning really should be stopping. +++ 1st and 10 7 blockers. 8 in the box. Full 3-4 with Amos in the box. +++ 2nd and 10 5 blockers. 6 in the box. Full 3-3. Savage playing in the slot. +++ 3rd and 5 6 blockers. Packers come out in the 1-4 with King and Amos in the box. +++ 1st and 10 Everybody in the box but Savage and the two boundary CBs. +++ 2nd and 1 Everybody in the box but Savage and the two boundary CBs. +++ 1st and 10 Everybody in the box but Savage and the two boundary CBs. +++ 2nd and 7 Love Savage playing in the slot. If you're going to draft a burner CB in round 1, it's stupid to treat him like a scrub. +++ 3rd and 7 Even the 3rd down defense is looking stout. +++ 1st and 10 Sullivan's going to come off a blitz here to fill the only open gap. +++ 2nd and 9 King's sitting in the box rather than outside of the box. love seeing it. +++ 3rd and 4 Sullivan's going to come off the blitz and Savage is going to fill in, matchup with AJ Brown in the slot and undercut the ball for a pick. +++ 1st and 10 Blitzing out of a stacked box. Leading to a sack. +++ 2nd and 17 Pressure package looking very aggressive +++ 3rd and 17 About the only play on the first three drives this defense wasn't looking to stop the run, but on 3rd and 17, who really cares. Still walked out of this with a sack.
