@RuskieTitan's First 2021 BDL Mock Draft

  Team Player Explanation
1 Anchorage Trappers Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson Raleigh has to feel stupid for not having this pick LOL. Anyway, Anchorage does their annual #1 overall QB pick this year again, and are probably going to pick Sam Howell #1 next year.
2 Death Valley Nightmare Zach Wilson, QB, BYU Death Valley has Sam Darnold, but just like the Jets they fall in love with Wilson and put their chips into that basket. They avoid the risk of Anchorage letting another team manuever into slots 3/4 and secure their QBOTF here.
3 Anchorage Trappers Justin Fields, QB, OSU Anchorage already selected a quarterback, but there's always the off-chance that their #1 pick suffers a torn ACL. They double down at quarterback, picking up Fields here, and letting him develop on the bench in hopes that at least someone on the roster becomes a quality starter at quarterback.
4 Anchorage Trappers Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida Kyle said he's going to be the best to ever do it. Whatever it is, Anchorage wants it. Plus it'll give their three headed backfield monster of Burrow-Lawrence-Fields a receiving target.
5 Death Valley Nightmare Ja'Marr Chase, WR, LSU Death Valley adds a receiver for Wilson, and ignore the fact that Chase skipped out on his team.
6 Antarctica Katabatic Beasts Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State Adding a quarterback to pass the football is a must in today's NFL. Adding Lance and his traits to a backfield of Barkley and Jackson will help elevate the passing game and give the Beats a strong balanced attack assuming Lance pans out. This also gives them a relief starter in the 4th quarter when they need to comeback after Tua struggles.
7 Anchorage Trappers Mac Jones, QB, Alabama Anchorage worries that with the previous selection of Lance will prompt a quarterback run, and won't be able to add Mac Jones to their starting rotation. They pull the trigger on him early, and bank that the 49ers are stupid enough to do it themselves. A gamble, but a quarterback in Shannananhan's system is something that they'll enjoy. It'll also give them a relief starter when their other quarterbacks tear their ACLs.
8 Rome Eternals Micah Parsons, LB, Pedo State There's always a sucker that takes an off-ball LB in the first round, and this year it's Rome. They have two linebackers currently on the roster, but LVE is a walking injury who seems to be in the mold of Sean Lee who was a walking injury. Parsons talent-wise should be worthy of a first.
9 Anchorage Trappers Devonta Smith, WR, Alabama Anchorage decides to give Mac Jones his #1 receiver from college into the pros, and hope that this first round small but talented receiver ends up translating into the pros quicker than their first round pick WR from last year.
10 Camden Hood Rats Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama Camden sees the run on Bama players and looks over their big board on which Bama player fits their roster best here. AJ Brown is an awesome receiver, but adding Waddle gives them another legitimate playmaker at receiver.
11 Death Valley Nightmare Jaelen Phillips, DE, Miami Death Valley has just two defensive ends on the roster at the moment, and looks to acquire another starter across from Burns. Phillips has the athletic traits to be the best edge in the class, and Death Valley rolls the dice that he reaches his potential
12 Gotham Gashslayers Kyle Trask, QB, Florida Gotham has no quarterback on the roster, and after the onslaught of earlier QB selections, desperation hits their owner, whose old age causes him to forget there's free agency after the draft. They pull the trigger on Trask and hope that what he showed in college somehow translates to the pros.
13 Singapore Sentinels Gregory Rousseau, DE, Miami With two edges on the roster, Singapore also goes edge and follows Death Valley to Miami, picking up the other first round prospect at DE.
14 Anchorage Trappers Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon Sewell's poor measurements witness him sliding down the first round as teams wonder whether he'll be able to handle blocks 1-on-1 in the next level. Anchorage has a plethora of draft picks, and rolls the dice on trying - at least in this league - to prevent their QBs from tearing ACLs.
15 Ivory Coast Black Rhinos Najee Harris, RB, Alabama Nick Chubb is back as an RFA, but he'll likely want a big payday next season, and it remains to be seen how much he'll get in the NFL. ICBR shores up their backfield with another running back.
16 Cuba Smugglers Kellen Mond, QB, Texas A&M With their next pick coming in round 4, the Smugglers find themselves in a sticky situation surrounding Watson. After performing extensive research to ensure Kellen doesn't like massages, the Smugglers pull the trigger on what they feel is the QBOTF for their franchise.

What is there to question about Sewell's measurements? Or was I missing the sarcastic don't?

A height of nearly 6'5" and weight of 331 pounds are ideal, while an arm length of 33¼ inches is a bit below what teams might normally look for in an NFL offensive tackle.

Samuel Gold of The Athletic expressed concern regarding whether that might impact Sewell's draft stock:

34"+ is typically what is requested. Sewell is 3/4 of an inch shorter.

Then you get a guy like Andrew Thomas with plus 36” arms and he looked like dog crap. It’s about technique, demeanor and football IQ. Sewell has all of that.

To be fair, Andrew Thomas was the census top tackle in an elite draft class because his game film.

I’m a Georgia fan. He wasn’t my top tackle.

He wasn’t my top tackle either. He was the census top tackle and widely celebrated when the Giants made the pick. The game film was his strongest selling point.

There were flaws in Andrew’s game such as hand placement amongst others. Yes it’s coachable and the coaching he was receiving from Marc Colombo didn’t help. But arm length is overrated if you have the other qualities. Sewell does.
