Hooray for life... I may as well have had the pediatrician laminate the sheet for my postpartum wife that said "Let the baby sleep! Feed her when she wakes up!"

Mine is excessively dead set on the "I must breast feed every 3 hours and the clock starts when she starts a feed otherwise she might diiiiieeeeee" mentality.

You can always reassure her that swaddling her incorrectly, putting her on her stomach to sleep, letting her sleep in her car seat, and a few other things are much more seriously fatal and noteworthy of her worry, concern, and insomnia.

The good news is you displaced this theory last night. Short term loss, long term win!

In all seriousness, I took the weekend shifts, and she took the weeknight shifts. It allowed me to stay up and watch football/get caught up on work, and it allowed her to sleep. Then, instead of both of us being sleep deprived, we shared the burden and used an alternating system. That was a LOT better, but you guys do what's best for you. So, once she is able to successfully pump, we are going to do something similar in terms of shifts. She's able to feed just fine, but pumping has been an issue. So I can only do so much. We are having a lactation specialist come by to help with that this weekend. Hopefully that gets us over the hump.

Hopefully that gets us over the hump. Best wishes! Our lactation expert was fantastic. Long story short, our 2nd child was born with a cleft lip and palate (albeit you wouldn't know looking at her four years later, although her nose gives her away a bit). My wife did a lot of pumping, and I did a lot of the feeding. We ended up buying a VERY NICE pump for her (if you can swing a top of the line one, I'd recommend that). That said, the bonding that happened between my daughter and me has been invaluable, even four years later. That's something I'd recommend for EVERY SINGLE father out there, because that's when you build that trust, touch, and comfort relationship, and it'll only help her to get soothed by you and vice versa. Plus, it'll give mom a much needed physical and emotional break. You've got this dude!

VigilantZombie
It's all about coverage baby. If you got a CB not on a hugely expensive contract that is available and an acceptable BDL player, hmu.
