Let’s say a team like the Bears decide that Nagy is useless and needs to be replaced, but they don’t want to wait a week for the main head coaching candidates who might be hired elsewhere.

Could the Bears in this hypothetical fire Nagy and bring in a new head coach?

Yeah they can hire a HC whenever they want, maybe the OC's team could hold them until seasons end though?. Getting a HC to take a team he has no history with right before the playoffs is the hard sell.

That and now if the new HC wins they just go later in the draft and hurt his own chances of trying to get a real QB.

Keep trying. The sticks in GB are still playing catch up with the whole tech thing and all.

Okay but if I get roped into a subprime mortgage because of this, I'm sending you my bills.

I... guess so? I mean, you might as well put in all of your backups while you're at it.

New HC will have roughly 6.5 days to install an entire new system. Pretty sure that's simply not going to happen.
