We really need to change the OP thread to "Where is Deshaun Watson headed?" now.

To be honest, this seems like a hire that was driven by who Watson likes...

It's still a bad hire, but if it keeps Watson satisfied... Well, it's still a bad hire.

If that's who Watson wanted, I'll have to revise my statement that Watson is an elite QB in all facets of the game.

So a guy who coached him for one week in a meaningless game that no one tries hard at....is who he would want to be the coach going forward?

That seem like BS or something a Texans beat writer would spin to make this sound like a good hire?

I'm not disagreeing with you, tbh. Guess the final word comes down to Watson.

It's possible, but I'll say Culley has a lot of support coming from out of the woodwork - it's rather unexpected, too. Respectable football people, too: Andy Reid, John Harbaugh, Gary Kubiak, guys who know what they're doing.

I'm still of the mindset it's a bad hire (it's great he's a nice guy, but the prep, organization and delegation skills of a HC is probably moreso important than being a nice guy) and will probably lead to the #1 pick (with or without Watson) for more than one season.

But... football people like this hire, flaws and all.

So, looks like Watson has spoken. We'll see how the Texans respond.

This is literally the worst possible outcome from this entire season.
