Louis Friend
Not doing the full offseason moves, just the draft this time. I've been playing with a draft simulator on thedraftnetwork.com. I pick for the Lions, rest is automated. #7. Detroit Lions Zach Wilson QB, BYU #39. Detroit Lions Jay Tufele IDL, USC #71. Detroit Lions Justyn Ross WR, Clemson #108. Detroit Lions Shaka Toney EDGE, Penn State #147. Detroit Lions Palaie Gaoteote IV LB, USC I've done the simulation at least 50 times over the last week. Every single time, Micah Parsons was picked before #7 and Zach Wilson was available for the Lions. I drafted 3 players to our front 7 on defense. They were the top options when picking.
SimbaWho
I think Wilson is solid. Don't love or hate any of the other picks either so I could live with this.
flyguy1609
I could get on board with this draft
BZski
We arent drafting a QB and we shouldnt. Stafford is 32 (almost 33) but has a good 5 years left. Rod Wood already said he doesnt think we're far off from contending. We have massive holes on defense, and WR. Plus, Zach Wilson will probably go top 5 (hopefully). The highest I see the Lions going for a QB this year in rd 3.

I would agree to some extent that if we were to have the offensive grouping that we had for 2020 under a new coaching staff and a few additional pieces on the defense that we could turn it around sooner rather than later. However, we're going to lose Marvin (no way that he doesn't go somewhere that is a contender trying to get a ring), we're going to lose Danny, we might lose Kenny and we have a cheese grater for a defense. If Stafford wants to stay and the top 3 guys are off the board by #7 then I do see a scenario where they try to retool the defense and win with Stafford. I just don't think that's going to be because Rod Wood is suddenly a football guru.
