Andy Herman -    What Rashan Gary was able to do against Andrew Whitworth - one of the best OT's in football, shouldn't go unnoticed today. That was a big time game from him. Excited to watch it on tape later this week.

Gary really turned the corner the last 5-6 weeks. If he keeps playing like this he was definitely worth the 12.

He should have also drawn a holding penalty

Watched Rashan closely when he was in. He is going to be damn dominant. All of our OLBs played great today.

Gary's entering into the second phase of his development. Last year he was able to hold the edge due to his strength and length and do some things stunting because of his acceleration and his balance. But his hands and feet were such a mess that he wasn't able to win much in isolation because he couldn't project his power, and he was also getting himself out of position due to inexperience playing situational football.

This year he's still got the length and strength and contributes with the special rushes, but he's starting to put the hands and feet together to be able to rush with power. His win rate is like 2.5x higher than it was last year just because his hands aren't getting swatted down every rush and his feet aren't misoriented at contract.

The next step to this is going to be to adding the hands skills after impact to disengage. That will turn some of these pressures where he's collapsing the pocket and forcing throwaways or setting up others for sacks, into his own sacks.

From there, he's got to figure out if he can add any other kind of move off the line he can set up with his approach, a speed rush, a swim move, anything that doesn't involve his hands on the other guys shoulder pads.

Ya that was a huge missed call especially with the phantom call on the Packers.

The other missed call that pissed me off was a PI call on the Rams where the DB used MVS's shoulder to climb up for a pass deflection.  That should have been a super easy call.  It happened right after the drop by Lazard on that bomb.

Ya that was BS too but I don’t think it was as bad as the holding call. Idk.
