Lambeau Field is probably the best home field advantage available this year because of the lack of fans.  They at least have the weather advantage.  Playing in the cold was a big factor in several seasons when the Vikings beat the Rams outside in Minnesota back in the 70's.  If I'm the Cheese, I'm praying for some beastly cold weather.

This game will have a whopping 6,000 fans now, UB 🤑

Yesterday's report:  Snow flurries Thursday/Friday. Saturday clear with temps in mid 20's

Ramsey vs Adams is a good one. Donald needs to be healthy or the defence will lack the pressure it usually has. Missing play like what Donald has is a major loss.

Floyd vs the reserve LT for the packers could also be a matchup to observe.

Rams defence is the best or right up there with he best. It should be a solid game. I would pick the Packers but I still think a dominant defence can win big games, and the Rams have that.  it might come down to the Rams running game and if Goff can be good enough.  It should quite a game, glad the Rams made it and not the seahawks

Turner did just fine against Khalil Mack last week. We're fortunate to have the depth we do. I'm confident he'll hold up against Floyd, especially if Donald is out or limited

Should GB win? yeah, probably.

But Jimmy G won a playoff game last year vs. GB throwing the ball 8x. I expect the Rams to follow suit. Pound Akers and Brown. Play great defense and keep Goff's passing to a minimum. If he can play like he did last week (mistake free) then I feel good. If Wolford can play I'll feel a little better. Reports now are that it is a stinger which could be very bad or nothing.

If Ramsey can lock up Adams like he has done with all the other top WR's in the league then I think we can come out of there with a win.

not sure the Rams are build to go into Lambeau in January and beat the league MVP playing with a top defense.

If we're built to do anything, it's play cold weather football. This team's forte is running the ball and suffocating defense. But our guys don't play in the cold often, so who knows.

Okay I wanted to use DVOA for this post, but FO locked their DVOA stuff now? That sucks.

Basically, LAR's strength on offense is GB's weakness on defense.

Conversely, GB's strength on offense is LAR's strength on defense - as a whole.

So on paper, I would say LAR actually have the advantage here if they can manage the game and run the ball well against GB and their defense shows up like it did against Seattle. However, I don't think you can rely on GB napping for 3.5 Quarters like Seattle did, and when it comes down to it, I do not trust Jared Goff to win another playoff game, on the road, against an even better team than Seattle.

DVOA Matchups

GB Pass Offense (1) vs LAR Pass Defense (4)

GB Rush Offense (5) vs LAR Rush Defense (3)

LAR Pass Offense (20) vs GB Pass Defense (15)

LAR Rush Offense (4) vs GB Rush Defense (18)

DAMN. I wish I would've waited 30 more seconds too post. The bolded is where I see LAR's biggest advantage. Everywhere else is basically a wash.

I expect the goal in this game is for the LAR QB to not have to win it, kind of like when the Broncos made the run with the ghost of Peyton Manning a few years back. Run the ball, play defense, and do your best not to have to rely on your QB's arm.

Two things:

(1) FO isn't locked behind a paywall, just need a (free) account

(2) GB can shut down the run when they want to (see Tennessee game). I can see Pettine forcing LAR to pass w/ the QB situation and playing a "normal" run defense alignment. GB fans have been outraged w/ how many run plays we lose pre-snap due to Pettine playing against the big passing play (it's absurd). So this comes completely down to Pettine. GB's defense has the players when put in the right position - and our defense has been trending UP to finish the season
