@jebrick what are you thoughts on Trey Sermon? I admittedly only watched him in the CFP this year where he looked like an NFL back. I’ve heard vision is his downfall which scares me.

Apparently they see “Leveon Bell” traits in Sermon. I could definitely see them taking him at 55 if we go elsewhere in the 1st.

I would prefer Gainwell over Sermon by a long way because of the blitz pick up and pass catching.  Gainwell is Etienne lite.

Sermon, at this point, is a 2 down back with decent vision and power.  He would be a tough pounder like previous OSU backs.

And people think they’ll go RB.

I still do. It's not like they have a lack of picks where they can't do both.

6: Top Playmaker
18: Running back
36: Top OT
50: Top C/OG available

Why is that so hard to imagine? OT is deep, C is middle two rounds. They can grab the top playmakers and fill the O-Line void in their next two picks.

(its also the exact same things we are doing)

They have enough picks they can literally do anything. I do get why running back at 18 is a stretch for a team that was looking at running backs.

They were in the exact same situation last year and passed on all the top backs multiple times and then had Myles Gaskin, a 6th round pick, have a really good season for them. It just doesn’t feel like their new regime believes in spending high draft capital at RB.

For the Jets, they are basically starting from scratch. They have Becton, Q Williams, maybe Mims, and that’s about it as far as building blocks. Hard to see them going RB when they still need another tackle, pass rusher, and corner.

We’ll see, obviously anything can happen but I’m still in the belief that barring a trade up, both Harris and ETN will be there at 24.

Yeah, I could see it....especially with a young QB.

The key word here would be draft, as they were interested in Aaron Jones before he went back to Green Bay. So its pretty clear they were open to a BIG upgrade. Rumors also had them interested in Conner.

Agreed, but as I stated in the other thread -- have you seen how many picks they have in the top 107? If the tackle class id deep, and IOL get taken mid-round, and defense is getting pushed down the board....but there are really only 3 RBs available that are clearly the top....why would you wait?

Im not trying to make a hard prediction.... I can see it going either way. But the idea that theres no way it could happen is completely absurd.

The next time Jason La Canfora is right about something Steelers related will be the first time.

Him and Adam Schein.

Anyways I’ve heard the Steelers were one of the teams very unhappy with how the NFL handled medicals this year. Apparently they were one of the teams that kinda trashed the NFLs medical exams. Sounds like we’re one of the teams that will knock medial histories and lack of 2020 play.
