winitall
The Jags signed Marvin Jones for 5 years, $82 million, with a $35 million signing bonus? Was there a typo in there somewhere? If the Lions resigned him for half of that IRL the fans would burn down the stadium. Edited February 23, 2021 by winitall

I've actually deleted my bid on Hill 10 minutes before the deadline, but I think it didn't update.

Signing bonuses are considered an advance on salary and have to be earned. Teams sometimes don't clawback signing bonus for long time players. The Saints certainly won't ask Brees for money back as the signing bonus still on their cap was simply the product of turning salary into bonus for cap flexibility. But for players who haven't restructured, teams do ask for the unearned portion of the bonus back. Ask Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson about the Lions approach. For Iupati, who just signed in the mock and hasn't earned anything, the Hawks should get back whatever they paid him.

For a team that started with ~80M in space, it's all funny money to get the guys we want in. All that extra money in future years is a problem for non-existent future Jaguars to worry about.

I hear you, but just because it sounds like the right thing to do or a simple request. Adding and removing players takes time to update. Because someone decided it was a good idea to target a veteran well past his prime, isn't really my fault. Releasing him under the guidelines that I created, the team earned back a million of that contract.

They act like you're the only team doing this...haha.

Take the ridiculous contract that the Giants gave Golden Tate right after extending and trading OBJ. After one year there are talks of them cutting him. The dead money alone doesn't make it worth it. With this mock being a blind mock, and after drafting their future QB I could see why the Jaguars @pwny potentially overspent for a decent receiver in the FA just to insure they landed their target. ny92mike
Updating rosters...taking a little longer, but I'll have them updated soon. I'm also going to update the waiver wire and I think there is one player in there, can't remember if the time has expired or not. @pwny I'll also get your star QB loaded into the official roster. ny92mike
@DoleINGout Nice signing by NE landing Kyler Fackrell - 34OLB in this round of bidding. Was hoping he'd last another round, as I really wanted to retain his services.
