i'd say hold on to Love unless we get a deal that's for more than what we used value-wise to get him last year. rodgers inevitably gonna miss some time over the next three years at some point. keep the premium backup, wait for him to show what he can do... cash in after he gets some burn/hype

I don't like trading him, as it is a drop in value.  But with the Rodgers play in 2020 and giving him a contract restructure in this TCMD, moving on from Rodgers next year is harder.  We also have no idea if Love is anything as a backup.

Pretty much this, you're not really getting the ROI you're looking for with pick #39 versus pick #26 there. I think you hold tight or seek a better package. Just not entirely sure this is the move at this moment. You're essentially not trusting your coaching staff to develop him by settling for this offer.

Itless about the coaching staffand more about Love doesn't do much in these next few seasons if Rodgers is playing like this.

Pick 39 is a nice CB/S/ OL/ WR possible option

Hmmm.  I'd say taket he pick for Love.  You extended Rodgers which makes moving on from him even tougher.

We are talking about a kid here who didn't even suit up this year.  Now the Rodgers deal makes it even less likely that he sees the field much.

Take the pick, draft a QB in the mid to late rounds to be the 3rd QB after Boyle, if you can Boyle back.  Which shouldn't be tough.

You can do a lot with that pick.  Move up with it.  Or..I see a OT, WR, CB combo coming our way.

That's a big no for me.   Having a capable back up is worth a lot more to me than #39.  So you trade him pick a player and he busts.  Great.  Packers saw something in this kid.  Groom him behind Aaron for at least another year.  Kid could end up being a real gamer.  Aaron goes down this kid fills in and plays well we could get a lot more in return.  Obviously the Packers saw something in him.  Way too early to talk about trading him.  There is no guarantee Aaron goes through another year without injury.  Smart move to protect against it.  Actually don't understand why more teams don't try to do this.  Such an important position should always have a guy waiting in the wings.

I'd let the situation play out over the next few years and re-evaluate then.  Would trading Rodgers for pick #39 after year 1 been a good idea?  Similar situation I wouldn't do it. By the end of Love's 3rd year they should have a pretty good grasp on whether he's the guy or not.  If not trade him and try again.  Mentioned this in the past it might take the Packers a couple bites of the apple to get this right.

Boyle looked great in the off season though. I’d be cool with him as our backup.

GB is $5.1M over the salary cap. I believe that is including the rookie draft picks.

We need to do some transactions to get under the cap and create some space to be able to add some players in ERFA, RFA, UFA.

Restructure (4 players total allowed to restructure with cap savings = $15.264M)

Rodgers saves $9.080M on 2021 cap

ZSmith saves $4.880M on 2021 cap

PSmith saves $2.930M on 2021 cap

Turner saves $1.722M on 2021 cap

Amos saves $1.955M on 2021 cap

Extension (total of 3 players)

Adams saves $6.818M on 2021 cap

ZSmith saves $11.469M on 2021 cap

PSmith saves $6.47M on 2021 cap

We have others that can be done, but these are the big ticket /$$ changes

Packers are about 32 million over he cap so yes restructure, cut, extend are all in play. The team must avoid becoming the Saints who are 100 million over the cap.

Since this is fake, I would take the pick for Love and honestly shop the pick for a WR/DT/EDGE/CB/LB. If we want some win now help use the pick for a vet. Stephon Gilmore?

You could also keep the pick and draft a RB in the 2nd to replace Jones.
