Colts LT Anthony Castonzo announces his retirement

Castazano was a consistent presence - not the best guy, but a good enough to get the job done. As the supporting cast got better, he got better.

Good to see someone walk earlier than anticipated, keep that quality of life going post playing days.

To add to this - It'll be awesome to see Castazano go the Joe Thomas route and completely lean out.

A few of the OL retire and suddenly look like LB/TEs a few years after playing. Gives a fat guy like me some hope.

Yeah the amount of calories they consume is ridiculous. He’s very tall so his weight doesn’t look that bad on him compared to someone like Jeff Saturday.

The fat guy in me thinks consuming 6,000 calories would be virtual heaven (because I'd absolutely eat like, 10 Popeyes Chicken Sandwiches with two large sides of Red Beans and Rice and a liter of Lemonade) but that's so difficult in itself.

I don't even know what that diet looks like for an OL, but I know it's basically another job...

So, question for all...

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/01/12/anthony-castonzo-quenton-nelson-has-all-the-skills-to-play-left-tackle/

Could this be the play? Give Nelson reps at LT? See if you can find a LG instead of a LT?

I think Nelson is the best OL in football, so I'm not TOO shy from this possibility.

In all seriousness it’s a possibility, and Danny Pinter could already be on the roster to take over at LG. They have been specifically training him at C this year but with a full offseason and OTAs it wouldn’t take long to get him up to speed. Pinter was a TE/DE in high school who transitioned to tackle and guard in college
