Texas_OutLaw7
The only thing I don't like about this is that MM might actually build a decent enough staff to keep his job.
scar988
Joe Whitt is a helluva CB coach and secondary coordinator. This is a great move for y'all.

He had no real talent to work with at FS and was given a group of rookie CB A.J. Terrell, 2nd round bust Isaiah Oliver, 4th round Kendall Sheffield who was bad early, veterans Darqueze Dennard and Blidi Wreh-Wilson at corner and at safety, a guy coming off an Achilles injury in KEanu Neal. Kazee went down for the season week 3. The Falcons were bad in the passing game more due to the first 5 games than anything else. They were bad because there was no pass rush. But the individual players took massive leaps. AJ Terrell played like one of the best rookies in the league. Isaiah Oliver found a role that he worked well in and improved all season. Kendall Sheffield did what he could and improved throughout the year. They made it work with an aging FS and a SS who was coming off an achilles injury. Whitt wasn't the problem in Atlanta. The lack of talent on defense was the problem in Atlanta. Whitt got what he could out of a unit that didn't have much talent to start with. WTF... lol Sounded to me like the main reason for the original interview was to scope him out as an assistant, not DC. Same with Simmons. Joe is a fantastic teacher and should be able to get the most out of whatever DBs Dallas has on roster. Whitt was with McCarthy in GB, but unlike Nolan, I wouldn't call this a crony hire. Whitt is legit and his claim to fame was tutoring (2) young UDFA corners to play well enough for the Packers to win a Title in 2010. D82
This is a hire I'm a little more favorable toward. I liked Whitt and he does have a knack for getting the most out of later round guys, so will be interesting to see him work with Diggs, Wilson and any other guys we add to the roster this off-season. Its funny, some of the defenses he has been on have been really bad, but the fans and players love him
