What is your teams best draft class ever?

I was sitting at work the other day and I was wondering if the Mack, Carr and Gabe draft class was our best all time?  I know the Steelers had some legendary drafts in their history.   What do you think is your teams best draft of all time?

I won't go back through all our drafts, some older ones may be better, but our 2017 draft is hard to top.

Lattimore, Ramczyk, Kamara, Trey Hendrickson, Marcus Williams, Alex Anzalone.

Two All pros, a defensive rookie of the year, a team sack leader with 13.5, a solid safety and a solid LB.  That draft is directly responsible for how good the team has been the last four years.   Along with 2016, where we got Michael Thomas, Sheldon Rankins, and Onyemata.  2018 and 2019 saw some solid players, 2020 is meh, but Trautman might grow into an important part of our offense.

Just went back and checked, our 2006 draft was pretty damn good as well.  Got Reggie Bush, Roman Harper, Jahri Evans, Rob Ninkovich, Zach Strief, Marques Colston.

In terms of pure talent for the niners, it's actually hard to beat their 2007 class. While ultimately neither may ever get in, Patrick Willis I believe has a strong case for the HOF in terms of pure talent while Joe Staley has a borderline case but is likely a hall of very good. That was at the very top. Ray McDonald was a talented guy who had off field problems and ruined his career, while Dashon Goldson was actually a first team all pro one year (lol). Tarell Brown was an okay corner for a number of years. This class is probably more top heavy than it should have been; Goldson and RayMac could have (and probably should have) had better careers.

Number - 5 guys played 100+ games, 2 guys 125+ games, 1 guy 150+ games. Total career AV of contributing class = 285

You'll get a lot of people who will say that the 81 class should be up there, and for immediate impact, that's valid. That is a rather infamous draft where Bill Walsh went yolo on the secondary with 4 of the top 5 picks being in the secondary with the other pick (and the 6th pick) being interior defensive linemen. This class was led by HOF Ronnie Lott, and 3 of the 4 picks were immediate starters as rookies on a team that ultimately won the super bowl. But that class burnt out quickly as well; Lott became a hall of famer, of course, but only Eric Wright went on to play more than 100 games out of that group. The 274 career AV of the class is impressive, but over half of that was due to Lott.

The super impactful and underrated class that people seldom talk about is the 86 draft. There was no first round pick, but they had a ton of overall selections and they drilled most of them, which is crazy impressive. The class is led by Charles Haley in round 4 who went on to a HOF career, but the depth of the 49ers dynasty is really built through here. Six players went on to play 100+ games. 5 played 125+, and Four played 150+. Thats absolutely absurd. The funniest thing is that they actually "missed" on their first pick in the second round. Larry Roberts wasn't bad, kicked around for nearly a decade, but was mostly a rotational guy. But then you had Tom Rathman, who was the fullback of fullbacks when that position was still a thing and Tim McKyer in round 3. He played for a lot of teams, and only 4 or 5 years with the 49ers, but had years of 6 and 7 int and was a pretty steady starter for a decade. John Taylor came after that. Obviously we know that he has one of the most famous super bowl tds in history; also is the only player to have two 90 yard receiving touchdowns in a game (against the rams, a game I still remember watching). He made a couple of pro bowls, had a couple of 1000 yard receiving seasons. Round 4 saw Haley and then Steve Wallace, who was a steady presence on the offensive line from the early to mid 90's, made one pro bowl. Don Griffin was taken in round 6, started every year for nearly a decade with the niners and played 161 games all told. Even a guy like Kevin Fagan had a solid career, mirroring what Roberts did as a mainstay on the niners defensive line rotation for several years and was a season short of 100 games as well. The career AV of this class was....442.

‘96. Ray Lewis and Jon Ogden, two hall of famers and franchise cornerstones taken in the same round.

recently 2018 has been excellent as we got Lamar, Mandrews, and Orlando Brown

Man that class was so clutch. In addition to those names... we added Hayden Hurst- who while only solid, was traded for what would provide JK Dobbins. Added Kenny Young, who would be traded for Marcus Peters. DeShon Elliot, who is at least a starter... and Zack Sieler, who we lost because of the NFL’s antiquated roster rules. Definitely has the potential to be something special.

But yeah, hard to beat two HOF players in one class. 😂

Im gonna say 1985... 2 hall of famers. Bruce Smith and Andre Reed. Also the man who led the comeback Frank Reich.

2001 was a really good class to... Nate Clements, Aaron Schobel, and Travis Henry.

2018 has a ton of potential... Josh Allen ans Tremain Edmunds obviously. But also drafted Taron Johnson who had pick 6 last night. Wyatt Tellar who is a beast in Cleveland now... we traded him and got great value in return. Ray Ray McCloud who has turned into a good returner for Pitt. Siran Neal is great depth.  And Harrison Philips who has been a disappointment but he is looking way better recently after coming off onjury. A very well rounded class

In 1963, the Chiefs got both Buck Buchanan and Bobby Bell, both hall of famers and core players in the two superbowl berths and one win near the start of the merger. Also got Jerrel Wilson, an elite punter for the time, Ed Budde, a 7 time pro bowler at LG, and Dave Hill, a decade long starter at RT.

For something a little more modern, 2008 gave us Glenn Dorsey, Branden Albert, Brandon Flowers, Jamaal Charles, and Brandon Carr. No hall of famers there (though Charles was good enough, he could have been), but that's 5 like decade long NFL caliber starters.

We did well in 2015 for the rest of the league. Last I knew, Marcus Peters, Mitch Morse, Chris Conley, Steven Nelson, and James O'Shaughnessy are all starting for other teams. I think Nunez-Roches is playing in a rotation for Tampa still. That draft class was the perfect representation of John Dorsey's tenure in KC. Got a ton of talent, but when that class was hitting the end of their rookie deals lined up with when all the declining vets he threw money at were costing too much, and we couldn't retain any of them. All guys we'd have loved to keep, but couldn't match what they were going to get on the open market. Save for O'Shaughnessy, I guess.

And then of course 2017 was Mahomes. We can ignore the rest of that one.

That I can think of for the Eagles?

2002.

1. CB Lito Sheppard, Pro Bowl CB who was a starter for a decent number of years
2. CB Sheldon Brown, wasn't a Pro Bowler ever but a fantastic cover corner and more dependable than Lito
2. SS Michael Lewis, Pro Bowl in 2004
3. RB Brian Westbrook, one of the RBs in franchise history.

Nothing else really after that. There may be some drafts from before the Reid era that I just don't know how they stacked up.

For the Seahawks:

2012 : Russell Wilson (likely HOF) and Bobby Wagner (likely HOF) plus Bruce Irvin & Jeremy Lane
or
2010: R. Okung / Earl Thomas & Kam Chancellor (that's a pretty good S duo for 1 draft) plus Golden Tate & Walter Thurmond

2011 wasn't bad either : James Carpenter / KJ Wright / R. Sherman / Byron Maxwell / Malcolm Smith.

I don't know who was responsible for those 3 drafts but looking at the team's recent draft picks that person sure isn't with the Seahawks anymore.
If that person is, then clearly it was pure luck!
