Suggs and Judon played different positions.

The fanbase's issues with Judon are simple. He's not a plus player against the run, he's not a plus player in coverage, and as a pass rusher he excels against TEs and on unblocked/cleanup opportunities. He pairs great burst with a strong football IQ and that combination allows him to impact plays on occasion when he does get those more ideal opportunities(TE/Unblocked).

There's also a stamina issue with him and he's clearly more effective in a deeper rotational role. So when you have a player that isn't plus against the run or in coverage and only a specialist rusher who's best in a rotation- you don't want to pay them close to max money.

Bingo. Sums up my thoughts on Judon perfectly.

How is it that we spend months on here bargaining ourselves down from chasing WR1's to seeing if AJ Green would play for food stamps while the Chiefs can just go and create 30m cap space out of thin air to break the market for offensive linemen

I mean, that's on y'all for actually thinking the Ravens were going to pay 15+ a year for a WR.

These moves have consequences. See them in 2-3 years.

yeah yeah yeah I get it real ones know that it's 'savvy' when your WR2 is a sentient traffic cone but my point was more that the salary cap is a figment of our imagination

I agree until that one year it comes back to bite you in the ***. Happened to us earlier in the decade. You usually can mess with the cap for a few years in a row, but it eventually comes back to get you for one year.

Ngakoue to the Raiders.

Confirmation that the FO won't be prioritizing the EDGE position going forward(At least in the traditional sense- Big Money & Big Names). Rookie contracts and value deal Vets in rotation is the new strat.

Hard to argue with the concept too. Judon and Yanny will combine for massive money and if neither of them were on our team last year our W/L split wouldn't budge. Our point differential likely wouldn't change all that much either.

I think this seals that we're going to be players on Clowney and try to get Tyus back. I'm not a fan of Clowney but I'm intrigued with how FA has unfolded.
