Joe Flacco was a much better postseason QB.

You might be right. In this thread it’s just:

1. Browns fans trolling.

2. Ravens fans irritated with the trolling and bashing Lamar gets. A small % do agree with the Lamar criticism.

3. People who genuinely think Lamar is overhyped.

4. The people you are talking about.

If you are going to assert that people are being racist...than just say it. I think it’s much more likely that many didn’t see him having the success he’s currently having and when he struggles...it helps to justify people’s previous determinations. There will also be those who show up if Allen fails because he’s very polarizing also. White dude

SO it wasn't about Lamar standing on the sideline after all? That was a quick turn around

It's just the second year in a row I've seen Lamar give up in the playoffs when it's literally a 1 or 2 score game. He's not like Flacco.

I think a lot of people think he isn’t good or great because he’s not a traditional quarterback.

I have heard others go so far as to call him not smart (Hi Doug Gottlieb).

I’m not insinuating anyone who thinks he’s not good enough is racist, but more or less stuck in the football Stone Age and unwilling to adapt to modern times.

Reminds me of what that idiot Dominique Foxworth said:

Quote

“I am fully aware that I have biases. And my biases are not based on Josh Allen. It’s based on the people that are defending Josh Allen. I would be 100 percent lying if I said that when Josh does something dumb, a little part of me doesn’t get happy. And it’s not because I don’t want Josh to succeed,” Foxworth said.

“It’s because the people who are telling me that Josh is the second coming and Josh is better than everybody are people with American flags and dogs and skulls and crossbones. … If you go just take a dip into their tweet history, it’s some really concerning retweets and likes. … It’s not about Josh,” he concluded.

At no point has Lamar "given up". He got injured trying to save his play when his center basically put the dagger in with that bad snap. I'm going to stop responding now my strawman scarecrow friend, until the wise wizard gives you a brain.

I really hate everything about this thread, because there are a lot of very legitimate concerns and critiques to discuss when it comes to the Ravens and Lamar over these past two years, and the argument turns to crap because too many detractors decide to go too far to the point of being meme-worthy. Like, we can't have an honest and intelligent discourse about this topic, because too many who want to criticize Lamar say garbage like this, and those who are pro-Lamar wind up just arguing about these takes, even though they're terrible in the first place.

No, Flacco is not, and was not, a better QB than Lamar.

Yes, Lamar can have a run like Flacco did in 2012 (doesn't mean he will, but he is capable of it.)

But yes, Lamar needs to improve, and the Ravens have some genuine issues that hold them back against higher quality teams that they seriously need to address if they're going to win a superbowl with Lamar.

This is the only response that matters - pretty much everything anyone says before or after this statement doesn't matter, because this encapsulates this whole topic up in less than 500 words.

The rest of you should aspire to post like this.

I think Lamar gets far too much hate to be so young and to have accomplished so much already. And I in no way blame him for that loss or think he quit on his team.

But he was clearly very frustrated throughout the entire game, and his temperament absolutely played into multiplying his struggles. He lost his cool, and that's going to especially happen to young and/or immature players. He'll probably grow out of it and be better in the future.

My thoughts on this from Ravens Forum.

What we need is Lincoln Riley. He gets 1000 rushing yards from his QB every year and manages to do it with a modern passing game. This is probably going to keep happening as long as we’re reliant on blocking specialists at the skill positions.

Fair enough...that’s why it’s better to just come out and say it...because I figured it was about race. Thank you for clarifying.

We aren't allowed those discussions on FF so we just have to sit here and allow the dogwhistle that is saying stuff like it's in Lamar's nature to know he will lose. There are legitimate and level headed critiques of Lamar’s game but they aren’t usually the loudest ones in the room.

I'm out on this topic before I get myself booted.
