What's your thoughts on Villanueva's role? Starting OT? Swing OT?

I really like the depth in this class and think we'd be fine with Fisher/Niang/Remmers/draft pick.

I'm feeling a little crazy and am thinking about Dede Westbrook instead at 920k apy.

I would slot Villanueva in a LT,  and probably release Fisher.   Achilles is a tough injury and he'd most likely be battling back from it all next year.    Doesn't necessarily fix the LT spot,  but allows us to be flexible in the draft and what to do with Niang.

LOL Dede is in my list I'm getting ready to send out.

Weird thing: Price for Reiter came down significantly. Stood north of 3 M$ a couple of days ago, A that rate .. clear re-sign.

Call me crazy  ... but I'd consider a reserve bid on Breeland. Would have to check the cap numbers in detail as numbers seem to float a bit ...

Clemons/Baker .. not sure if there's a need to put a reserve on them right now with just 128 bids in round 1. Kemp would be my preference over them.

In other news: Still considering trading Damien Williams? What do you value him?

I can play around with reserve bids on Breeland.   See what it comes out as.  Thoughts on the CB’s I put in the lists?  I thought they were good value.

I can slide Kemp in for Clemons.  Baker I was just being cautious since he is a recent 1st Round pick.

I would trade Damien,  but I don’t think anyone else is in the same boat.  I was looking for depth guys at TE and S as comp.   I’m not really taking offers on him, as I didn’t think anyone else wanting to trade him

Darren Fells trade probably won’t happen,   He didn’t like the pick swaps and or 7th round.  Don’t really feel like swapping a 5th all the way to 7th.  Don’t think he’s worth that, unless anyone disagrees

I honestly have no clue about them. But even with Ward, Sneed Fenton ... we do need a starting caliber CB ... and bidding on another hit during the draft is  ... well .. a stretch.

Don't forget BoPete Keyes. He didn't play much, but he stayed on the roster all year. We see from Allegretti that means something.

Reiter and Remmers are necessary. It's nice that they are also cheap. Damien Wilson, not so much. Why not try Avery Williamson?

I think Avery Williamson,  Jarrad Davis, and Damien Wilson are all pretty good bargains at LB.

I would probably wait on a CB(not a 1st round bid),     Ward, Snead, Fenton is a pretty good starting point.    For sure could use another veteran to help balance out the group,  Not necessarily a top guy,  but someone as a placeholder that Fenton/Keyes have the chance to beat out.

So what I'm getting is;   Reiter and Remmers we are all on board for the first round?

Tanoh?  Villanueva?    Are we good with those first round?  or do we want to go somewhere else?     My plan was to solidify a starting LT for next year,    release Fisher  and have the cap relief from Fisher be what we worked with the rest of FA.

Avery Williamson,   instead of a 1st round bid on Tanoh?

Remmers or Villnueva, Reiter, TK, Williamson. Whichever of R and V you don't protect, put a bid on.

I agree we don't need a premium CB. Even without Breeland, we have Ward and Sneed, with Keyes or Fenton as the nickel. Our secondary is built around the safeties. We need a physical safety to replace Sorensen, but not at #32. Trading back would be good.

Reiter, Remmers, Villanueva, and Avery Williamson for me.

Tanoh only had one sack this season he needs to be replaced with someone faster a late round rookie can get you one sack.

You traded Schwartz right?

We should trade down from 32 and load up on 2nd-4th rd picks consisting of mostly offensive linemen but any hard to pass up BPA as well.

Definitely cut Fisher ASAP he was bad and banged up before the achilles tear.

Well, for one cutting Fisher would be pretty un-Chiefs-ish ... if I remember correctly how the team stood by Eric Berry twice and the Kingdom appreciated it. Even before if you consider the Priest Holmes end-of-career.

And second: I strongly disagree Fisher was bad in any form or shape. Not dominant, I agree. But the Chiefs don't employ roadgraders along the OL, but mobile chess pieces. You can't have it all.

So I strongly suggest we keep him, suck it up and declare this discussion over for good.

If the Fisher discussion is over.... I need your bids for Round 1.     If Fisher is on the roster,    we have about 4-5 guys we can bring in for 2-3 Million...  than after that it's basically Vet Min guys.  Or we could go for a 10-12 Mil guy and the rest is all vet min.

Reiter,  Remmers,  A. Williamson,  Damien Wilson,  Tanoh  would probably be my preferred 5.

Also this would run the risk that Sorensen gets picked up before he makes it all the way down to Vet Min Status.

I'm kinda lost where we are at with the cap right now ... the sheets you linked are showing completely different numbers compared to the sheets linked in the GM Mock Draft/League Office forum ... however .. the KC sheets mention 7 pending contracts ... ????

So .. I'm confused  ... I did my tally like four pages back  ... if that still is somewhat true ... there should be some flexibility.

This is what I said back there ...

So if I get this right and assuming the second Schwartz deal, we have:

40 players on the roster
5 re-signs via tenders
1 trade-off
9 draft picks

That leaves us with 53 slots filled post draft, of which 52 are already accounted for (the additional 7th round pick is not but will drop out of the top 51 anyway).

Available cap thus should increase by the Schwartz savings (6.255 M$) plus 660 k$ for cheapest guy on the roster dropping out of the tally.
If I get it right that should leave us with 14.935 M$ right now.

Each additional signing will create a cap hit of 660k$ less than the individual cap hit of the player, as one player from the end of the roster will be pushed out of the top 51.

However, some of the players' cap hits changed since (eg. Reiter), so numbers may not be all that up to date.

I assume the 7 pending contracts are the 4 initial bids ... plus 3 RFA tenders?
