Geesh  .. draft post gone  .. spo all over again:

Looking at the depth chart I still think we need to adress OT one way or the other unless you are sure Niang can start right away. Don't want Remmers to start. No clue if any remaininmg OT is worth a 3rd. If there is - he would be my pick.

IOL looks fine if we can bring in a vet OG. Cap should allow for that.

TE might be an option, but I don't see the urgency Jayhawk does.

CB still is rather shallow. Ward in his final year, only backup Kirkpatrick (unless he snatches Fenton's job). S I see some room to wait to the 5th or so.

Wouldn't mind another OLB though. Gay still is an unknown in many aspects, Wilson gets the job done but is not necessarily someone to write home about, and Whitehead is the only backup unless you move McGrone to the outside. And as everyone seems to be pretty high on that LB mentioned by Samsel (Surratt) - I wouldn't mind going that way.

My only hesitation on LB,  is pure coverage LB's tend to drop.      There's still a ton there I think are good option as a reserve coverage LB.

Surratt,  Justin Hilliard(I think is going to be a solid 8-10 year pro no one will ever fully give respect to).    Isaiah McDuffie,  Grant Stuard.    Surratt is obviously on another level than all those guys.   I'm good with any of them though.

I'm takings some trade offers,   but at this point it's just guys looking to trade players for picks.

I would rather have another DE than another LB at this point. It also has BPA going for it.

I am comfortable saying Niang is better suited to start than anyone still on the board. He's probably better suited to start at RT than Remmers. This is not to say we could not use a future starter, but we are well past the point we can get a day-one starter from the draft.

IOL has veterans--Rankin and, if Niang moves up, Remmers. I'd go with an OT over an OG.

I am baffled how anyone can look at our TE situation and not see a need. Urgency, not as much, because the front guy is so good. Kelce is 31. Hollister will do as a TE2, but he'll never be a starter. Past that there is zero depth unless we can change someone's position.

What positions are the trade offers?

J

Current DE on the roster: Frank Clark, Carlos Basham, Tanoh Kpassagnon, Taco Charlton, Mike Danna, Tim Ward, Demone Harris, Tyler Clark, Austin Edwards.

I can't see us keeping more than 5 DE and I think our top 5 are pretty set from Clark to Danna. Only Kpass and Taco are FA in 2022 (out of the 5).

*side note, Wharton is listed at DE. I think that's a mistake so I didn't include him.

Current OLB on roster: Hitchens, Wilson, Gay, DOD, Harris.

After the top three the talent is questionable. Plus only Hitchens and Gay are under contract in 2022.

Current ILB on roster: McGrone, Whitehead, Cobb, Smith.

Only McGrone is under contract in 2022.

I agree that DE likely has BPA over LB going for it, but LB is the better long term selection imo.

That said, my vote is CB Ambry Thomas

Just a thought before logging off for today:

After this pick we still have SIX picks left. It may be wise to check if we could package some to get players that really help filling needs. Some examples:

143 + 179 -> 120
143 + 201 -> 128
163 + 179 ->129
163 + 201 -> 142

I went ahead with Kenny Yeboah,    I think that's where J wanted to go.

Hectic day at work,    I'll venture out with trade oppurtunities on some of the later round picks.     OT, IOL, CB, and S are all viable options.   Still wouldn't rule out the possibilities of another WR(KR/PR really) and LB.      RB as well.

We can fill all the draft picks if we aren't able to trade up,   but will definitely try to package some up to get a better guy.
