Actually asked him and he said, No that he was planning to keep him if no trade happened. He's got his eye on some free agent centers which is why he was on the block. ny92mike Posted February 12, 2021 Author Share Posted February 12, 2021 GIANTS SIGN NOT ONE BUT TWO EDGE RUSHERS IN FREE AGENCY First round of free agency the Giants have signed both edge rushers, Yannick Ngakoue and Hasson Reddick to 5 year deals. Unfortunately, it didn't come without a cost. The Jaguars beat out the Giants contract offer for Dalvin Tomlinson, so unless we do something in the later rounds or draft BJ Hill becomes the starter opposite Leonard Williams. Yannick and Hasson both bring a unique skillset to this defense. Yannick a bigger body type that can stuff the run as well as get after the QB and Reddick a smaller speed type back with coverage skills. The 5 year deal I agree with you on, if this was real it wouldn't have been a long term deal like that. Mock draft most everyone is pushing longer contracts to save money for this capped year. But the Giants have zero contracts past 2023, which seems odd to me for a team to not have any long term contracts. So adding some long term contracts I don't think hurt the future. Next round of FA isn't until Wed. We don't have deadlines on weekends with this mock, something new we are trying this year. With Valentines this weekend we extended it out a bit more for that. @YogiBiz has already got us laid out for the next round of FA bidding. Got some bids in on a couple players that should continue to boost this defense and hopefully a player to push Peart into the starting role.
